I've been reading these boards for awhile and I love the information. I've learned alot from everyone. I'm so excited. I'm taking my family to Disney world in 25 days. I've not been since 1982. We can't wait. We are driving down from North Carolina on the 17th of April. We thought we would try to find a motel close by,since we can't check in until the 18th. I wanted to be close so we could check in or at least get our passes that moring and hit the MK. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. All the reviews on the boards have been very positive about this resort. Do you think we would be fine with finding somewhere off property to stay the night before,or should I call for a reservation? Any suggestions on somewhere to stay the night before we check into POR? WDW here we come!!!!!!!

We too are traveling April 17th and arriving April 18th but at POFQ. We are driving from NY and have posted some questions on the transportation board asking for suggestions on where to spend the night the day before we arrive. We have done the drive straight through but this time we want to stay overnight and arrive for check-in early and refreshed.

So far we didn't get too many responses on the transportation board. We are thinking of stopping in Kingsland, GA. It is just on the Florida border and will be a short drive in the morning. We will book ahead of time rather than taking our chances and just pulling up to check-in. So far we found the Country Inn Suites by Carlson to be the nicest with good reviews on www.tripadvisor.com. I know it is just one night but I want a decent place. The room rates are $60 and less and include breakfast. We are still checking around though.

Please post if you hear of any other good places to stop. Have a safe trip!

I will be at POFQ from April 18-27 for our Birthday trip. My Husband's Birthday is April 18th, My Best Friend who works at AKL is April 19th, and Mine is April 24th. We will all be turning 31. Cast of Characters going DH, ME, and then DDs 3 and 22 months, and we are taking my Mom. Maybe we'll see each other. I can't wait.

I will check out that web site. It might be a good idea to have something set up. We wanted to drive as close to Orlando we can. Maybe even make it to Orlando that night,and stay the night off-site. It will be me,DH,and DS 5. My son is so excited,because this will be his first trip to DW. The travel Channel had a special last night on DW,and the parks. It was great! Happy Birthday! That's a great way to celebrate. I wanted POFQ,but I heard they were closed when we booked. I hope we will be happy with POR. The landscape sounds beautiful.

I've got a conference to attend April 16-18 in Orlando (how cenvenient) and we will be checking in to the Poly on the 18th around noon.

wow I was gonna say use hotwire to get the doubletree(smaller one) for $44+tax but I guess with easter they are so full that it is now $66 on hotwire for the same hotel(or at least I think it is the same hotel).
