Tween-friendly stores with "tall" sizes?

DD12 just hit 5'9" and needless to say, all of last year's pants are too short! I think she needs tall sizes now. I'm 6ft, so I also wear talls, but I am plus-sized (and also wear "mom" clothes). I know Old Navy, Gap, and JC Penny all carry tall sizes, but do any others that might be more popular with tweens/teens? DD is not really into fashion or shopping, so spending a day browsing at the mall would be torture for her. I need a game plan before we go in, lol.

She doesn't like regular jeans, so I'll be looking for jeggings/leggings or some other type of pants with stretch, plus sweats or some other athletic pants. Same with sweaters/sweatshirts, most sleeves are too short. Her style is fairly "sporty," but she still wants girly colors and styles... not just a mens' hoodie. Any suggestions on brands or stores that cater to tall girls?

I can't help, but I have the opposite problem dd14 is quite the fashionista, but at 5', 83 pounds, she doesn't have many options either. She will be entering HS wearing size 10 slim children's clothing.

Aeropostale or American Eagle for jeans. At least as of last fall they sold tall. Cant say I know about hoodies and tops. They also sell super skinny sizes. The 000 is like a girls 12 but longer. Was a lifesend when dd was 11 yrs old but 5'3"

My daughters like the athletic capris so thankfully those a tall girl can get away with!

Yes, she loves the athletic capris! But we are in the midwest, so unfortunately, they can't get us through winter. Thanks for the tip about Aero and AE. I'm pretty sure both are in our mall, so I'll check them out.

My daughter was 6 feet tall in middle school and grew to 6'3" (thank goodness she loved basketball :). She shops at the stores noted above and Alloy. She recently moved to Minneapolis and has found a store at the Mall of America - Long Tall Salley that she likes.

Aerie (American Eagle pajama/sweats store) for leggings and yoga pants. They have great sales too

We've been finding a lot of great clothes at Forever 21 if you have one of those near you. They have unbelievably low prices too!

I don't have any recommendations for teens necessarily, but from a tall girl: be aware that many stores carry Tall sizes online but not in stores. Something to keep in mind before heading to the mall!

Yes, unfortunately I know that's how it usually works. I do a lot of ordering and returning when shopping for myself. I hate not being able to try on pants in a store, but what's a tall girl going to do? ;-)

Thanks to all the PPs for the suggestions. I'd never heard of Alloy or Long Tall Sally, but those web sites look promising. And I shopped at Maurice as a teen but thought they had all disappeared. It turns out, we do have one fairly close! I've never seen any tall sizes at Forever 21, but I guess we'll check again. I haven't shopped their much.

I also found that Athleta has tall sizes, in case anyone else is interested athletic wear. Cute stuff, but I don't think I can justify $60+ for a hoodie!

When my granddaughter was in that situation (she's 22 now), I found 00 tall pants in the Victoria's Secret catalog, of all places. They were modestly cut, too.

Wow! I NEVER would have thought to check there! A little pricey, but I think she'd like some of the pants, and it's nice to see flannel jammies in long lengths too. Thanks!

With shopping for tall sizes, its definitely best to do your shopping online. Gap/Old Navy has tall lengths. I know its not very 'tween' but Ann Taylor loft has nice jeans. Victorias secret is a good option too. Get on their emailing lists to get emailed coupons and discount offers.

My sister is 5'11" with a 35" inseam and gets most of her jeans from Maurices.

I forgot about the jammies, she LOVED those! She's cold-natured, and hated pajamas that struck her mid-calf when they were supposed to be full length.

The quality of the pants was excellent, too.

American eagle has talls. They often don't have them in the store but my daughter tries on the pants and then they order them for her in the store. They don't charge shipping when they do it.

I'm 5'10" and wear longs. I've had really good luck with Gap jeans (pricey though!) and Arizona jeans (from the Teen department) at JC Penny's. Both carry a huge variety of jean types (I just bought jeggings from Arizona this week).

DD15 has a similar problem. American Eagle online is where I get pants and shorts for her and DS who are both tall. DD has a very long torso, so shirts are never long enough. It drives me crazy. Also, shoes in a size larger than 10 are hard to find. I think someone could make a fortune with a store for tall people, with longer pants, longer shorts, longer shirts, bigger shoes, etc.
