Hello -- early next month I will be at Universal Orlando with my 10-year-old son. It is our first visit. We will be staying at Hard Rock Hotel and have multi-day passes for the parks, so I understand we will be able to go to CityWalk. My son really likes music, including rock, blues, reggae and is a budding bass player. I know kids aren't allowed in the clubs after 9 p.m., but does the music start earlier, so he can watch the bands for at least a little while? Is there somewhere else we can hear live music?

Thanks so much. I have learned so much from this forum even though I don't often post -- usually I can find the answer to any question by searching the archives.

on weekends, there usually are live bands/music outside in the city walk area.

it's free....

i do remember some old threads that mentioned kids in clubs with parents after 9.

but i don't remember enough to be able to answer your question.

They usually have some great bands out on weekends. They're good fun and I always enjoy seeing some up and coming acts. There's one that's been there quite a few times called "The Lighter Exchange".

Their style is the typical sort of rock. But they're perfectly fine rocking out with some more pop-punk songs. Their original songs are great! :D

They do multiple covers, so probably something your tween might know. One night they performed the Rolling Stones, Weezer, Train and even the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

If interested you can find them here...

Sorry for posting so much about one band, haha. But a concert at Citywalk concert is always great fun. Hopefully you'll find one you enjoy.

Arrange a late dinner in Margaritaville or just go over around 9:30, they usually have a group on about 9:30 till 2am, and children are welcome as well. In other places we where told we had to leave at 9pm because DD was under age, once we where ordering a meal at 8pm, and they said we would have to leave once we finished, so could not even enjoy another beer after the dinner, think that was Latin Quarter
