Twas The Night Before Elections

When Tocqueville critiqued the american system of government (Democracy in America, early 1800s) he warned of a day when the tyranny of the majority should rise up and realize that they have the power to vote themselves relief and to vote higher taxes for the minority. Well, that day has come. The promised return to Clintonian taxation will not be the extent of hikes... they won't do it. There will be more, mark my words.

I am hopeful that with virtual carte blanc the Dems will be able to institute some real alternative energy policy. Hopefully he can put some real incentives in place to make the car companies get off their butts and get fuel-cell on the road. He sounds like he wants to be a new Roosevelt, so maybe he can put those millions of hand-out-takers to work installing hydrogen and CNG distribution infrastructure ala the TVA.

yep, like OJ was probably thinking "wow, i really DID fool them all" and now look where he is.

Could easily be blamed on growing up without a Dad.

Today's news is ratings. The truth? Who gives a ****?
What makes an angry kid grab a gun on his way to class?
The same damn system that freed O.J.'s guilty ***.
How could you not notice the bombs your child built?
Does a system that's anti-spanking provide anti-guilt?
No wonder I'm so pissed, you probably are as well,
There's nothing left to stand for, our country's gone to hell.
They told us in the 60's not to trust because it's a scam,
But the loyal that did trust are now POWs in Viet Nam,
They just wanted a college degree, but they ended up in war,
Most died never knowing what the hell they were fighting for.
Well, that was just the beginning, now look what's going on,
Things are getting bad, and will be worse by the dawn.
We have the power to change, or so says the constitution,
"We the people" often forget due to the political evolution.
We are the Government who decides these decisions,
Though, those holding office have clouded our visions.

In the 1950's, Cubans and their media fell in love with a young, eloguent speaker who promised "change" and to help the poor. He promised to provide better healthcare and education... no one cared about his background or thought to ask who his "friends" were...thousands have died escaping that change - look at the state of Cuba today... You know, I can't believe all the negativity and hatred on this topic. I've been an Obama supporter all along, but I didn't bash McCain along the way. Don't we ALL want what's best for our country ?? I think people need to move on and think about the good of the country and our future rather than keep up with all of the Obama bashing. Isn't it a bit early to talk about how bad our country is going to be...the man hasn't even been sworn in yet !! Can you give him (and the overwhelming amount of Americans that voted for him) the benefit of the doubt and give him a chance ?? McCain was classy enough to say he'd support Obama and do anything he could to help our country....I think we should all do the same.
