Twas the Night Before ... Christmas 09?! - 12/30 New TR! Please come join me!

Oh, I love peppermint cookies -- those sound divine!!! We just made basic sugar cookies in Christmas shapes and then loaded them with frosting and sprinkles -- the theory at our house is that there is no such thing as too much frosting.

I could live by that theory!! I do sugar cookie cut outs too.... that is the last kind I make. I bought some fabulous sprinkles this year -- pearly blue and silver for my snowflakes!!! These will all be unveiled in photos this weekend... Gotta see the baked final product!

ooo...I'm sorry to jump in here but yum for peppermint cookies and Mexican Wedding cakes (MWCs are really good...:thumbsup2...sadly I haven't found a gingerbread recipe I really like...:sad2:

(I make a peppermint cookie that you actually put one of the round peppermints in the dough and it sort of spreads and melts into the cookie...very tasty and cute to boot...)

Bah, NO "apology" needed!! Jump in any time! OOOH!!! THAT sounds very very yummy!!! I like these because they are small and quick to make, but yours sound great!!! Gingerbread, it is my grandmother's recipe, thick and not hard as rocks! Which some gingerbread can get to be... I can't wait to see DISNEY gingerbread.. I am going to feel like Gretel!!!! Eat!

Oh gosh, your cookies sound delicious! I want a sampler platter!
Another frosting lover here!
:goodvibes

Can't remember when I posted here last. I have been swamped and really don't know if I am coming or going. I LOVE your decorations so pretty! The scrabble idea is so cute. We are surprising ours too.... speaking of which I need to get busy and make those boxed up. Your cookies so wonderful!! I have taken this year off..... just so much to do that I left to the last minute. I LOVE MWC and your peppermint ones sound yummy! I can't wait to try some disney gingerbread either!!

Beautiful snow pictures! It is so pretty. I really miss snow. It never snows here, but we had a tiny, tiny, tiny, chance that didn't pan out which really disappointed the kids. :sad1:

You all picked out a gorgeous tree. Very pretty! And I love the shirt. I got all of our shirts done. Now on to work on a few hoodies, sweatshirts, journals, and pressed penny holders.

Thanks! Yeah I love the snow, too.... the kids were so happy. The tree turned out nicely (hey, so did yours!) Oh yes you still do have crafty stuff to do!

I KNOW I can't believe how close it is!!!!!! THANK you for all the love! :rotfl2:

I can barely fit in the time to get the cookies done myself, so I understand!

So as you all know, my summer trip this June has an ADR day on the second day of my December trip!:scared1:

While I am perfectly capable of picking ADRs I am at a total loss as to when to go where and which park at this point, because I have been so absorbed with Christmas trip planning and the anxiety of a final week before we go... It is TEN days, TEN days TEN days until our trip!!! GASP! Good grief!
But even still, I thought I would at least start taking a stab at these ADRs... :scratchin

Here are the MUST DO restaurants this trip:

Whispering Canyon Cafe
Narcoosee's
Le Cellier
San Angels Inn (lunch)
Chef's (lunch)
A character breakfast (We will have tried four: 1900 Park Fare, Crystal Palace, Mickey's, Cape May -- perhaps we should try 'Ohanas?)

Here are a few others to consider:

Tutto Italia
Coral Reef
Tokyo Dining
California Grill
Rose and Crown

Good? Bad? Must do's or Must avoid's?????!!!

Here are possible Date night options:

Bistro de Paris
Todd English's Blue Zoo

I have not picked days yet... and we are going to add nights at the Boardwalk Villas (with the current bounce back offer) when we get to Disney next week... So basically I have to project a little in terms of good or bad days to go to the parks, but I think I can figure it out.... Am I missing anything?? Would you add CRT?? :confused3

Just distracting myself from the cookie dough fest!!!! HA! Spicy Nuts are next....
Oh, and it is snowing... again :)

You should also look at adding The Wave to your restaurants to consider. I had a wonderful meal there in October and have an ADR for May also. It is right at the Contemporary so it is an easy trip over to the MK.

YES, We love The Wave!!! Last two trips we ate there and it didn't disappoint. We might very well choose it, too... I am not adding Sanaa because we will have been there three times, but then again, if you like a restaurant, it isn't a bad decision to stick with what you know is good! They have fabulous Blue Agave margaritas there!!! :thumbsup2

Pretty snow pictures. I'll take some in January.
Snow days are wonderful after-Christmas gifts. :thumbsup2

It's a good thing I don't care much for frosting, since it looks like some of the others are wanting extra on theirs. :)

Happy baking,
happy ADR planning,
and
happy traveling,
Happydog.

Your plan for June looks great! How cool is it get to call for ADR's from WDW!?

I think almost all of the restaurants you mentioned are great and you won't be disappointed! Notice that I said almost all, DH and I ate at Coral Reef in March and it was the worst meal I've ever had!! On the flip side of that, some of the best meals I've ever had have been at WDW!

Narcoosee's
Cali Grill
Artist Point (I highly recommend it)
Fulton's Crabhouse (also highly recommend)

As for character meals, it not a trip to WDW for us unless we've gone to Chef Mickey's! We also really enjoyed 1900 Park Fare! Haven't done Ohana breakfast yet but will one day! We enjoyed Tusker House although felt a little rushed through our Donald meet!

Rose & Crown.

Rose & Crown.

Rose & Crown.

Rose & Crown.

Got it? ;) :rotfl2:

Yeah, you and Christine and CP have been twisting my arm about this one! Welsh Dragon alone, etc. etc.!!!

Pretty snow pictures. I'll take some in January.

Awwwww MeMom that was sooooo sweet, I love your little "Happy" poem! Well it looks like that to me!!!!! I am doing my best to remain "Happy" as I cross all my fingers and toes for a school delay tomorrow am!!! HA! Yes, HANDS DOWN I am looking forward to those lovely after-Christmas gifts in January!!! ;)

Ah!!! Well that helps, then!! Narrow the list! Re the others, Fultons, that sounds like a good idea... Artist Point we tried it last November, but we were not feeling "signature" on that one.... maybe we should try it again... Shann went to Fultons and had it on her TR and it did look good!!! Definitely trying Narcoosee's! It could be "cool" but it will also be stressful!! Thank Goodness for 180 days... there should be some breathing room!

O' Hana's breakfast. It is my favorite by far of the ones we have tried!.

I guess I maybe should think ADRs sometime too....

I think I would like to try Ohana's for breakfast too! I haven't met a Disney breakfast that was bad though...
I'll echo LL on the Rose and Crown. You can't beat the patio. In the evening. Just as Illuminations is starting.
It's wonderful. :cloud9:
Just take insect repellent....

My thoughts...

'Ohanas- YES!

Tutto Italia - has gotten mixed reviews so I never let Jeff consider it but he really wants to go there!
Coral Reef - if you haven't been I bet your boys would love it.
Tokyo Dining - I know you've been here :)
California Grill - I wouldn't do it iwth the little one's but that's just me.
Rose and Crown - I'd go here!

Date night options:

Bistro de Paris - my vote!
Todd English's Blue Zoo

Would you add CRT?? nope. lol!

mnnn...cookie dough!

My thoughts...

'Ohanas- Never been there for breakfast, but we liked CM's breakfast so it's probably good too.

California Grill was amazing! The best food I've ever eaten (It was our last meal, so I haven't gotten to it yet on my TR.) My kids were great and the view was beautiful! My family would argue with me~ Mom thought Narcossee's was the best food she's ever eaten; and Sam wants an ADR at Le Cellier for every night on our next trip! :lmao:

CRT? I wouldn't recommend it anymore. I wasn't impressed.

We're trying Les Chefs, Brown Derby, Yachtsman, and Grand Floridian Cafe new on this trip.

We loved Tutto Italia in October, but I don't know how it measures up to authentic Italian food. We want to eat there again on our next trip! :goodvibes
