Every parish EXCEPT ours and one other had snow forcasted yesterday morning/Friday evening. It was just cold and yucky here.

HI! So I was wiped out yesterday, I didn't get much time to DIS last night, but I am back full swing tonight! That and cookie baking will keep me busy! I need to catch up on all my reading for PTRs and TRs that I am subcribed to, so many people doing Dec trips coming up fast!!!!

We got about 4 inches Saturday night. It was a treat for us since, even in NH, we don't usually get much snow before Christmas either. We had our town Holiday Celebration on Sunday night and the snow really helped get everyone into the Christmas sprit!

Your tree looks great.

Hi YA!

Well.... I am making my peppermint drops. They are just round drop cookies that are peppermint flavored... I glaze them with pink frosting (also mint flavored) and I then sprinkle mini candy cane sprinkles on them... I won't frost them until this weekend. I pack up cookies to give away first of next week. SO the cookies get baked then stored in air tight containers. Then decorated a day or two before I give them away!

I also made the dough for Gingerbread and for Mexican Wedding cookies... Which has to chill a bit.

Oh, I love peppermint cookies -- those sound divine!!! We just made basic sugar cookies in Christmas shapes and then loaded them with frosting and sprinkles -- the theory at our house is that there is no such thing as too much frosting.

ooo...I'm sorry to jump in here but yum for peppermint cookies and Mexican Wedding cakes (MWCs are really good......sadly I haven't found a gingerbread recipe I really like...

(I make a peppermint cookie that you actually put one of the round peppermints in the dough and it sort of spreads and melts into the cookie...very tasty and cute to boot...)

That sounds like us here! They got the report totally wrong last time so we'll see if they have it for this next weather front coming in! A town holiday celebration sounds so old fashioned and homey!
