TV Psychics Lisa Williams and John Edward

I've never had a reading by a TV psychic but I've gone to a psychic here in our city a couple of times and she is GOOD. She doesn't ask questions; she just tells you what information she's getting. Many things she's told me have come to pass .....

:thumbsup2 As a poster stated above. After all these years and all these shows....If JE had "scouts" in the audience...surely someone who have come forward by now. I heard too many stories of how he was 'spot on" and very specific and a few very vague 'anybody can do it' stories.

If someone is debunking him, I wish they be specific in how he is lying. As I said in my original posts...the Debunkers are always more vague.

Once, Penn from Penn & Teller was "debunking" JE...but he NEVER explained how JE was faking or tried to prove his theory in anyway, other than that Penn said so.:confused3

Try a quick search on cold readings for an explanation of how it can be done. Practice and talent can lead to it being done so well that no one can figure out if or how you're doing it, and a good reader can make you believe that you did absolutely nothing to help him/her in any way.

My mother and I have been to see John Edward and I do believe he is the real thing. I went in suspecting the plant theory. There was a woman who arrived just after my mother and I and stood in line just behind us. She was crying quietly and clutching something in her hands. We said hello to her but didn't have any significant conversation with her. She ended up sitting just down from us. He read her that evening. Her daugher came through. She had been blaming herself for her daughter's death and he said to her "your daughter said you need to stay here. Do you understand?" she said yes. Later, after the show, he was signing copies of his book and she was again, in line near us. As he was handing her the book back he sort of whispered and asked her if she had been contemplating suicide. She sobbed and nodded yes. He told her he believed she was the reason he was there that night and that her daughter said she need to stay here, meaning among the living. He told her a few other things including mentioning her daughter's favorite book. Considering this woman stoood next to us in line and sat next to us we saw that no one came out and talked to her or anything. If she was a plant, her "act" extended into the after show book signing and she deserves an academy award for her performance.

A few years later my cousin came through as he was reading my mother. She was 18 when she was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. He was reading someone else when he asked if anyone had a young woman named Barb or Barbra who died in her car but not in a car accident (she was sitting in the car when he shot her). She was a B-B (her initials) and a daughter figure (my mother's God Daughter). My Mom stood up and said "I think that is my niece." He knew her death was unexpected, told us she didn't suffer and said she wanted her Mom to know it was OK to wear the ring and OK to move the furniture. We were not aware of it but after she died my Aunt had taken the ring she was wearing and carried it with her all the time but couldn't bring herself to wear it. Also, my Aunt and Uncle wanted to make a room in their house for their grandkids to sleep in but her room was the only "spare" bedroom and they were hesitant to take her things out of the room feeling like they would be moving her out of their lives. Neither Mom or I were aware of the ring or the room situation so neither of us could have given any clues on that. It wasn't untill after the reading when Mom called my Aunt that we found out what that meant. So yeah, I believe he is real. :)

Who knows though! I do know my Mom and my Aunt (same Aunt from above, MY Godmother, who passed last year after fighting breast cancer for several years) promised each other that they would make sure to contact each other if they could. Before my Aunt died Mom asked her to "surround her with yellow butterflies" and low and behold we've had yellow butterflies around all year, even when it is chilly. When I was pregnant with my now 1 year old and we went through a scary time thinking something may really be wrong, I came home from a rather discouraging appointment, opened my front door and a big yellow monarch butterfly flew out of my door and landed on my stomach for a moment before flying away. The doors and windows in my house were all shut tight so I have no idea how that butterfly could have gotten in there. My mother had an experience a while ago where she had been thinking of my Aunt and she said she had this experience like my Aunt was talking to her "inside her head" like she could hear her but not a physical sort of hear if that makes sense. My Aunt said "tell Rob (her son) that I am, I was and always." Mom didn't call my cousin thinking he would think she was crazy. When it happened again she decided she may as well call and see if he knew what it meant. He did. He said he had been asking her to let him know if she was OK, if she was there when his son was born and if she was with him and his kids. So the answers...I am, I was and always made perfect sense to him.

Also, my son who is now 7 was born about 2 weeks before my Grandfather passed away. I was very upset that I didn't get to go to see him when we knew his time was coming. I had preeclampsia and was on bed rest so I couldn't travel. I was so upset that I didn't get to say goodbye to him in person. When my son was about 2 he started talking about "his white haired man." He talked about him a lot in sort of an imaginary friend sort of way. He told me once his white haired man must think I was a nice Mommy because he smiled at me a lot and sometimes blew me kisses. The references to the white haired man continued untill he was about 4 and a half. One day when he was around 4 or so we were visiting family and I was showing him pictures of me growing up. He picked up one of my Grandfather and said to my cousin "Aunt Christy, where did you get this picture of my white haired man?" We asked him if the white haired man ever talked to him and he said no, just played with him and would sit by his bed when he was scared at night. I asked him about a year later if he still saw the white haired man and he told me no, he went to go dance with some lady and they never came back. I told my Mom this and she started crying. The night my grandfather died Mom dreamed of him. In her dream they were at a party and were sitting together talking about some of her fondest childhood memories. He told her "I have to go dance with your mother now" and got up. My grandmother had been dead nearly 10 years by that point so him "going to dance with some lady" had significance to my mother.
Great post! :thumbsup2 Thank you for sharing.

You gave me chills....how wonderful!!

Only a few of you got that his name is JOHN EDWARD. Edwards is the Democratic Candidate for President.

JE is not a fake. Nope. I have seen fakes in my time and keep in mind there are so many ways that it can be faked. Not gonna happen.

John is very Catholic, was scared that this would take him away from his faith but fully believes in the power of prayer.

I could go on and on. If you don't want to believe fine, he was skeptic of what was going on with him at first.

Thanks, I read them. They make sense, but are all from people who never even talked to JE or LW. I'd rather here from people who had first person experience, and who I know (or sorta know). I been in IT for almost 30 years, and I very much deal with logical patterns etc.

Like Feralpegs story!:thumbsup2

What is weird about these 2 TV psychics, I never heard people who actually met them say they are PHOOEY!

I am very open to someone who met them and had a BAD reading....These are the stories that are non excistant on the web.

Years ago (early 80's), on a VERY expensive date My then girlfreind brought me to a psychic who worked at a back table in a Greenwich Village Restaurant. Then it was $75 each for a 45 min reading. Whatever i went along with it not believing in any of this. This was only a second date, and this girl didnt know anything about my childhood...(they usually left right after I tell them that:rotfl2: )

:scared1: She was right on with many things that ALREADY happened...she named NAMES.

For instance as a kid (under 6 years old)I had a make believe friend. I called this friend a very specific first & last name, the last name was rather odd and funny. As I kid I talked about him ALL the time. It drove my Mom nuts!:lmao: I made sure EVERYBODY knew about him. Neighbors, friends & relatives use to ask me about him, as if he was real.:rolleyes1

So anyway many years later this psychic, out of the blue....says to me...."your friend (firstname lastname) is your Gardian Angel"...i was like    I was floored. She said that i was very in tune with him as a child, however he is still with me but do to my getting older I lost "touch" with hearing him. She also told me that he is very kind, and he really is a male relative who had past over before I was born.

So because of this I DO BELIEVE. No way this complete stranger could now this.

Quite often when things go screwy and I need a hand...I will talk to my make believe friend. So far so good...he always helped out!:thumbsup2

Also once on vacation in San Francisco, I was waiting for the Trolly and some woman, who looked homeless to me, and totally unprovocted(sp?)...walked right up and told me my name. :scared1: (I have a rather unique last name)....All she said was my name, and that I will have a great day, and if I believe can I spare some $! :lmao: I gave her some $ and asked her HOW she knew my name. She said 'Just believe" and walked away!
:confused3

I would love to talk to either JE or Lisa Williams. Everytime I watch Lisa, I always tell my husband that I wish I lived on the West Coast so I could get a reading. If she ever comes this way, I am going to be first in line! I am a Christian, and sometimes it is hard to go completely on faith. I would love to just know how my 5 babies (3 miscarriages, 2 pre-term labors) are doing in heaven. I want to know if they are being taken care of by my mom. I want to know if I will ever have the chance of being a mom. Sometimes, it is just a little easier to be given some hope for the future, even if it never comes true. Honestly, even if JE or LW are fakes, I think they can give people peace.

Thanks, Disunc, for pointing me to this thread!

I love Lisa Williams... I think she's amazing.

I just found this at the Lifetime site, for anyone interested -- you can enter once per day until the end of November for a chance to win a trip to L.A. and a free reading by Lisa. There just aren't words to describe how much I would love to win that. :goodvibes Here's the link:

A very affirming story. And eerie, too.

I think that John Edward could be a combination of psychic ability, strong intuition and a little help from fact-gathering. Like any showman, he would want to come across as splashy as possible just to keep people interested.

I see that often when people discuss Ghosthunters. Many say that they are dull because so little happens. Scifi added music and dramatic moments to liven it up and they could add even more if they want to spice up the show. I think John Edward does a bit of that.

I know this is an old post..but Halloween is coming and wondering if we all still believe in ghosts?;)

All kidding aside, has anybody seen Lisa Williams Live? She is coming to our town on Oct 21, and me and my husband are going to see her. I am very excited about this. I use to love her show on Lifetime, and wish it continued.

DH is sort of a medium. He is very private about it. It took him 10 years of marriage before he told me. He says no true psychic would go public, much less try to make a 'career' of it. He doesnt believe ANY of the tv ones.

I saw Lisa Williams a few weeks ago when she did a show in South Florida. She was really interesting and quite on target about those she read. SOme people have claimed that they might be "plants" but if they were plants they were also academy award winning actors.

Some pictures were published of her on stage and there were light orbs surrounding her head. At any rate, her energy and warmth were evident. She seemed like the real deal to me.

I don't know yet which network picked her up, but rumor has it - she's going to have another show on - I just don't know which station or how soon.

Check out the Ghost Hunters Thread we have lots of great stories and as far as the ones I posted are concerned they are all TRUE! Scary but true.

I like to watch Lisa Williams and think she seems to have a good heart. I always laugh at her cute little boy and how he always wipes off her goodbye kisses, like oh mommmm

I wish I could ask her about the Casey Anthony case down here in Orlando (Caylee A. missing 3 year old). I would like to hear if she has any ideas about it. :happytv:

My sister always tries to call JE when he is on LKL, but she never gets through.

I believe there are people who have "gifts". My mom always tells me about a lady she knew who was chillingly accurate in her readings. Once she told my mom that she'd get "a missive with roses and money inside". A few days later it was her birthday and a friend who was in another city sent her a card with a picture of roses and money inside.

Then there was a lady who was in the early stages of pregnacy, and was told that her house would be full of flowers. She miscarried shortly after, and yes, she received many flower arrangements wih condolences. :sad1:

There was anoter even more tragic story which I don't care to remember.

The lady (who didn't make a living with this, only did it for friends when asked, but never charged) one day told my mom that she didn't do readings anymore, because she was seeing a lot of sad things, and it broke he heart telling her friends what she saw in their future.

Wow, I have to admit I'm surprised at how many people really believe in this stuff. :confused3 I understand how much people want to believe in stuff like psychic powers and souls and ghosts, but what these people (so called 'psychics') do is borderline deplorable to me. It's OK if said performer admit it is a clever and entertaining trick, like magicians and performers do (and they achieve results just as good or better, achieved through a myriad of techniques such as cold reading, reading of expressions, clothing, gestures, plants, hidden cameras, microphones, informers, ect.) but when they try to pass it off as real, giving false information to people from their dead friends, family members and loved ones and taking advantage of those peoples desperate desire to hear a message, well, that doesn't seem right to me. Am I the only person who thinks these 'psychics' are taking advantage of people?

And, if it was real in any form, from some average person or these celebrities, why all the secrecy? If they really do have a way to contact dead people, tell the future, read a persons' mind, this evidence could lead to some of the most important discoveries in human history. Don't you think even one person would realize this and step up? This sort of thing would tell us so much about the human mind and even human existence, If these people really could do it, keeping it all 'hush hush' is really crummy of them. Of course, one possible explanation is these 'psychics' know they are a fake and are scared of being found out.
