Has anyone ever used the rental service on the Magic for Tuxedos?

We want to look "spiffy" on one of the formal nights. Any clue as to how to reserve and the approximate cost?

Thanks for any help!!

Love these boards....couldn't do without them!!

Yes, I used the Disney tux rental in 9/2000 and it was a beautiful tux. It was delivered to our room. However, last year 9/2001 I went on e-bay and bid on a tux and saved about $30. Of course, it was a chance you taken when ordering/bidding without trying on. This year we are cruising May 25 and cannot wait.

Bbethparsons -

You mentioned Ebay and saved $30, did you buy a tux or did you rent one? If you bought, was it a new tux? Was it a major brand?

I'm considering buying a tux for myself also and I'm curious. I've used Ebay to buy several items but not clothing and not a tux.

Thanks for your input.

I just bought tuxes for both my kids and my husband off Ebay. It ended up being much cheaper than renting, and they'll have it to wear again on our next cruise. The tuxes I bought for my kids were both brand new with tags for $44 each. The tux I bought for my DH was used, but is in absolutely perfect condition. I decided I would rather buy a used tux for $59 than rent a used tux for $85. The one I bought was an Oscar de la Renta, 100% wool, very good quality.

If you do decide to buy one off Ebay, you can go to your local tux shop and have them measure you so you'll know what size to order. Most all tux shops will do this (complimentary!) and even give you a card to take home with all your correct sizes.

Thanks for all the information....atleast I know where to start!!

Bbethparsons: We are also cruising on May 25th!! I guess we can all look "spiffy" together!!

It will be myself, DH and twin DD's, age 5!! We can't wait either!!

Thanks again, I will try eBay first, I think!!

Last August my husband, nephew and brother all rented tuxedos and thought that the service was wonderful. Saved the extra room in their suitcases for other things. They came with an option to have a cumberbun (sp?), vest, braces, different ties, shoes, 2 shirts, socks, cufflinks. Basically everything was waiting for us in the room when we checked in. All nicely pressed hanging there. It was a very slick service, although costly too! Seems that they paid between $125 and $200 for the entire package.

This year my husband has bought a new tux from the Men's Warehouse because they offer lifetime pressing and seam alteration (I bought him one from Nordstrom, but he took it back because of these services). Figures that a couple of weeks of rentals would pay for the entire thing.

Happy sailing!
