I am planning on making disney themed tutus for my dd6 for our trip. The big thing that has me wondering is that in the summer months she mainly wears sundresses, do you think it would look odd??
That's what I'm thinking! My girls are wearing tutus (bike shorts underneath) with coordinating Princess tops. The Disney store tops are decently priced if you buy two or even Walmart has Disney tops in the $5-$7 range. I would get her a couple to wear with her tutus. I'm even making some ribbon streamer pony holders and curly bows to wear with their outfits.
I think I'm going to use the bie shorts as she has alot, waiting for a new printer to come in so I might get transfers. The Ariel tutu I made does go well with the smocked Ariel dress from H & M but that tutu is a bit longer.

Is she wearing the tutu under the dress or over it?
If she is wearing it under it then with some dresses it certainly works- like a petticoat under it.
We actually have one my 5 year old DD wears under some dresses to poof them out a bit. She also owns a good dozen tutus at home for play and puts them under dresses. Sometimes it looks silly, other times it actually works and looks cute.
Just use your own judgment. If you think she looks cute and she feels confident and comfortable then go with it.
