I was there in December and thought it was very good. We'll be going again next week.
It's more authentic Italian food vs American Italian food. (There is no chicken parm or fried calamari on the menu, much to the dismay of the couple sitting next to me)
This is what we had (cut/paste from allears - I had to peek to remember everything)
Cozze Marinara - mussels in a spicy tomato and garlic sauce
Polpettini Agro-Dolce - meatballs with sweet and sour tomato sauce
Lasagna al Forno with meat ragu, bechamel and parmesan
(delicious, tasted like my grandmother's. The pasta was definitely home made - very thin layers - not the thick rubbery ronzoni stuff)
Braised Pork Shank with creamy polenta and root vegetables
(my husband's - said the meat fell off the bone..I don't remember him having polenta though, so maybe they changed the sides)
Gianduja - Chocolate Torta - chocolate and hazelnut torte with whipped cream and raspberry sauce
My husband's dessert isn't on the menu anymore - it was a kind of cream puff.
My 4 year old had pasta, tomato sauce on the side, no meatballs. He pretty much ate that all week wherever we went.
I highly recommend it. Some people here hate it because it's expensive and they feel it's not worth it. Other people love it BECAUSE it's expensive so they geel like they're hitting a DDP jackpot.
I happen to like Italian food and thought it was very good, regardless of the price. You never know until you try it for yourself.
