Tusker House....

Can anyone tell me if this is a good choice for the day I am at Animal Kingdom? I always eat at the Rainforest Cafe, but will be on the free dining plan.

We did the Breakfast last year and Restaurantasauras the 2 years before that and it was great. Early into the park for breakfast and finish just in time to see the mass of people streaming into the park for the day. I don't know that I would take an hour out of my morning park hours to do it, but I would definitely do it first thing in the morning (8:00 AM or so).

We went to the Tusker House for the first time in early May since they have changed the restuarant. We enjoyed it. No it is not like RFC in theming but the food was pretty good.

This was my plate with macaroni and cheese, sliced beef over green beans, garlic mashed potatoes with beef aujus, boboti (spelling?) - a spicy beef filled pocket and saffron rice.

For the kids or those who want regular fare there was a large sandwhich area to make your own. The children's bar had the usual mac-n-cheese, mashed potatoes, chicken nuggets and green beans. They also had 5 or 6 different salads - rice and pasta based.

Of course our favorite part was the dessert bar!

We enjoyed our meal here.

We made our reservation for the first lunch seating and there were only about 8 other families in the whole restaurant. This place can be very loud as it is just large open rooms but when we were there it wasn't bad at all.

I would say yes. BOMA is my favorite WDW restaurant and Tusker House has very similar food. Don't worry about picky eaters, there are plenty of standard options too. I would say it is head and shoulders above the Rainforst Cafe.

Tusker House breakfast is my son and husband favorite.
