Tusker House vs. Flame Tree

I will be absolutely no help with this one .... DH and I love Flame Tree and have been there several times on our past trips. We are going to try Tusker House on our upcoming trip to try something different. I can't say anything about Tusker House since we have never been there, but we love Flame Tree!! Great ribs and corn on the cob ... also, if you follow the path to the left of the actual Flame Tree pavilion there are several quiet shady eating areas - very nice!

Don't think you can go wrong with either one so it basically boils down to what you want to eat. BBQ or a little different kind of fare. Check out the menu's on allearsnet and decide which sounds best to you. They both are very good, IMO.

We have eaten at both and they are both good. It really depends on what you want to eat. One thing nice about Tusker House is that you can eat inside during the summer.

Love Tusker House. The rotisserie chicken platter is excellent, and can actually serve as your "main" meal for the day; it's very filling!

thank you BAST, I was going to ask if there was an inside dining area. We are going to make a ps for Boma`s for Breakfast, so it would be nice to have a late lunch where you can at least eat indoors, especially since we`ll be there in Aug. when it`s sooo hot!! :earseek:
The menu looks very good @ Tusker House :goodvibes

The first couple of trips to AK we ate at Flame tree and really enjoyed it. The next time after that, we the pork sandwich was dry so the NEXT time we tried Tusker House & never looked back!! The rotisserie chicken has never disappointed. We get the meal deal and always order the 1/2 chicken with mashed potatoes & veggies. Always great and a/c is good when it's hot!

I LOVE the salmon at Tusker House, if you happen to like salmon, eat there for sure. It comes with rice and veggies, it's soooooooo yummy! :goodvibes

I think it's nice that there are two good choices. My plan is to try whichever one is closest when we are hungry!

I've never eaten at Flame Tree, but I LOVED Tusker House. Although it's counter service, the place has a "sit down" feel to it.

We went to AK two times on our trip last week so we had the opportunity to eat at both. I will agree with the others and that they are both very good. I brought along an index card that I made up before hand with the menu jotted down for all CS's ...My advice is to go with whatever one offers the food you are in the mood for eating at the time or as said previously...whichever is closer when you are hungry!
Yes Tuskers has indoor seating and it is nice....Flame tree has very nice outdoor seating though....lots of tree coverage as if it were a canopy...very atmospheric I think. So if the weather isn't too oppressive....then go for your food choice!

the roasted chicken at Tusker House is probably my favorite park meal! We always eat a late lunch and then only have to snack the night away!

hmmm.......I'm still undecided! Although I think I am leaning toward Tusker House. So keep giving me your opinions!

:mickeybar mmmm.....can't wait!!!

We tried Tusker House and while it was good it seems as if Flame Tree is the one we keep repeating... Yummy!! The pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and corn on the cob is my favorite. My DH usually has the same thing with FF's and we always enjoy the microbrew they have on tap. I can't remember the name of it.

We've eaten at both and definately prefer the Tusker House. When we ate at the Flame Tree we ran into a small problem...no one cared for the BBQ sauce so we choked down as much as we could! So, the moral is, if you are picky about BBQ sauce, pick the Tusker House!

Well... we've eathen at Flame Tree the last two years... but we're probably going to try Tusker House this year. Flame Tree is some darn good BBQ, though... it's not Memphis BBQ, but us Memphians are kinda picky about our 'cue. :)

Just came back from our trip on Sunday.

We ate at Flame Tree and it was fantastic. I highly recommed it.

Don't know if you have a meal plan, but if you don't you might want to get a voucher for I believe it was $12.77. It covers a drink, a snack, and a quick service meal to include your drink.

I had ribs at Flame Tree which alone would have cost $8.99 plus drink and tax, so the voucher was well worth it.

My son and daughter loved the kids meal which was chicken wings, apple sauce and corn. They wanted to go back to Animal Kingdom the next day just to eat there again.

I really think you should give it a try. Four thumbs up from all of us.

Have fun and enjoy whatever you choose!

Thinking of trying Flame Tree, but now I am nervous about the sauce, is it a sweet sauce or a smoky sauce or what is it? I am picky about my sauce too.

We just returned from Disney (I wish we were still there( had to drive through a blizzard to get home) I be back in a minute if it werent for the drive. Anyways we ate at both the tusker house and flame tree. In our opinion there was no comparision, GO TO THE TUSKER HOUSE, the food was fresh, the burger, salad and dessert were generous and everyone was happy. We will never go back to the flame tree, the ribs were fatty and gross, the drinks were watery and overall just a totally unappealing experience. Our second worse meal of the trip.
