Which in your opinion is better for lunch. Tusker House or Yak and Yeki? Never been to either have reservations for both for my trip this month on the day we do AK. We'll be having dinner later on in Epcot at Chefs de France that day as well. Tell me your experience(s) with these place. The good, bad and ugly. Any pics are appreciated as well. Thank you.

We have had lunch at Y & Y and loved it! We loved the food, atmosphere, and the service was good. Only downside for us was that it was pricey but no more so than other TS options, IMO. We've not yet dined at TH, but hope to do so next trip.

Been to both, including the character breakfast and dinner at Tusker House, and lunch at Yak and Yeti.

If characters are your thing, you could try to get a reservation for a late breakfast at Tusker House (Donald's safari breakfast). There's plenty of good snacks and counter service in Animal Kingdom Park where you could get a quick bite later to hold you until your Chefs de France dinner.

Tusker House (lunch and dinner) has an awesome buffet with very delicious food. Being a buffet, you might get in and out faster. But for me, the food there was so good... I had to try everything... and I stuffed myself. We were there for dinner, but had it been lunch, I wouldn't have been hungry at dinner time!

Yak and Yeti is likely to be more expensive depending on what you order. But for us being on the deluxe dining plan, the price was all the same. The deluxe plan includes appetizers too so we tried some different things. The food and service there was absolutely delicious, and outstanding. We are booked again for our next trip. I have heard advice to avoid the usual kind of foods like Lo Mein or sweet and sour chicken. Most reviews I've read match my experience that the more unique entrees are much better. I highly recommend the Ahi Tuna and lettuce cups appetizers, and Mahi Mahi or Malaysian Seafood Curry. For dessert, the fried wontons were delicious!

We did Y&Y for lunch and TH for dinner on the same day in December, and DH loved TH while I favored Y&Y. But they are very different menus and experiences! I have reviews for both in wdwinfo reviews.

I cannot say enough good stuff about Tusker House, especially with their preferred seating option for the Finding Nemo show at lunch. It can save you a on of time in line for the show, if you have plans to go.

The food is great, the CMs among the friendliest I've encountered around The World, and they generally have all-you-care-to-eat baklava. What can possibly be wrong with that?

Except, I guess, the 10 lbs. I gain every time I visit...

We're not really buffet people, but DH and I LOVE Y&Y. It's a must for us every trip!

I'm not usually crazy about Disney food but I like both these restaurants and have current reservations for both. We're having lunch at TH on day after the F&W festival (we're only staying one night.) We'll be eating a light dinner the night of the festival, breakfast in our room the next day, and will be ready for a hearty meal. That makes TH are great choice.

We find the variety and quality of the TH buffet to be excellent and we can use our TIW card that day.

We're having Christmas dinner at Y&Y for the second year in a row. We love the green bean appetizer and it seems we had a mussels app, though I'm not sure. I liked my tempura shrimp but my sons had lo mein which was better. Very smoky and good. We can't use our TIW on Christmas day but we can get a 10% AP discount.

I mention the particular discounts in case you qualify for either or both.

I love Yak and Yeti - everything we've tried there has been good.

I've not eaten lunch or dinner at Tusker House but the Character breakfast is yummy! I drink more than my fair share of Jungle Juice everytime we go. We usually don't need much more than a snack around lunchtime after doing this breakfast. In fact we usually do the Tusker House breakfast and then have Yak and Yeti for dinner.

I have two large sized athletic brothers and eating lots is one of their favorite sports. If we go someone with small entree's I am at risk of losing a large portion of my food. So good food and lots of it adds up to TH

My son went to Y&Y on his honeymoon. It was their favorite Disney restaurant. We're going on our next trip.

I am not really into buffets, but I love Tusker House. Y&Y is just so-so in my opinion.

Its not really fair of em to chime in since I havent been to Tusker House, but I LOVE Yak and Yeti!

If you click on the links in my signatures, there are 2 reviews, one in each dining report. Those have photos!

I prefer Tusker House over Y&Y. Just was not impress with the food at Y&Y, however, great atmosphere there.

Plus, we like to do the Nemo lunch package at TH. Anytime you have lunch there after 1:00, you get reserved seating for the Nemo show in the afternoon. No need to wait in the very long lines...you get to stroll up to the side door and great seats close to the stage.

We have reservations for 1:10 at TH. What's that about the Nemo lunch package? Do you have to book that special or just ask for it when you check in with your ADR?

I always ask for it when I call to make reservations and it is noted on Disney's side. But last time...I was told from the CM that anyone who has lunch at Tusker house starting at 1:00 or later can just go ahead and ask their wait staff for the Nemo tickets so you can avoid the long lines at the Nemo show later.

I still want it noted on the reservation that it is the Nemo show package.
