Tusker House or Rainforest Cafe?

Hi,
Looking to make TS reservations for one of our days at AK. Preferably dinner. Haven't dined at either establishment. Which would you chose?
Our family is myself, DH and our two DSs--ages 6 and 8 at time of travel.

Tusker House - buffet with the 'exotic flavors' of Africa (curry), Characters include Mickey & friends.

Rain Forest - very cool if you've never been to one, food is very boring American fare.

If it's about the ambiance - Rain Forest.

If if's for better food (albeit on a buffet) and meeting Disney Characters - Tusker House.

I would choose Tusker House...I have no experienced their dinner and I am not sure if the characters are still there during dinner but if they are thats a plus over Rainforest. Tusker House's lunch food was AMAZING and I can't imagine their dinner food being any different. Rainforest is your chain type burgers/sandwich joint. If you want to try something new I would definitely vote for Tusker House

Tusker House, hands down. You won't find TH anywhere in the world but AK. RC is the same experience they've done elsewhere, and while you haven't been to one, they exist in many, many places.

Plus: Donald Duck in a Safari outfit! You cannot go wrong with such a thing.

Just looked. Dinner is a character meal. So i would definitely go with Tusker House of Rainforest.

The sound effects at Rainforest Cafe can be very loud. We ended up leaving one in another state because the volume hurt MY ears so my three year old really wouldn't have liked it.

Tusker House absolutely. The atmosphere is great and the food is certainly as good, if not better, than Rainforest. Besides, there are tons of places with a Rainforest Cafe, but only one Tusker House!

I know it's been said, but I want to emphasize: Tusker House!

We haven't had great experiences at the Rainforest Cafes. Like someone said above, the ambiance is great, but the food is just average. I also love having the "Disney experience" carry throughout everything we do, since I wait so long to get to Disney each time, lol. And Rainforest Cafe doesn't have that, since it's a general non-Disney chain.

Rainforest is pretty cool atmosphere, but I'd take Tusker House food (and the characters) every time at this point in my life. We have given Rainforest Café two or three shots, and it's almost as if they are trying to please everybody with the breadth of their menu, but, in doing so, don't seem to be doing any of the items really well. It's not bad, but the last time we went, pretty much everybody in our group was underwhelmed...and if it is possible to be underwhelmed while surrounded by a rainforest, aquariums and lots of animatronic wild animals, then that's saying something.

Donald's Safari Dinner will be offered at Tusker House at Disney's Animal Kingdom beginning, March 8, 2015! The new character meal will provide the opportunity to meet Donald and Daisy Duck along with an all-you-care-to-enjoy dinner buffet. Tusker House Restaurant will also continue to feature characters at breakfast and lunch. Donald's Safari Dinner will be offered starting at 4 p.m. daily. Definitely Tusker House. I don't hate Rainforest but the food isn't good. You are eating there for the novelty of it. Tusker House has excellent food. It is one of the best in-park restaurants on property IMO.
