Hoping for suggestions on which to do for breakfast. We already have a reservation for Tusker House at 10:05am on Sept 18th, which was the only time I could find for the week will be there. I also thought that Hollywood and Vine would be a good choice because DS is a huge fan of Disney Junior and LOVES all the characters there plus they do have a lot of openings. I've read that H&V does singing/dancing as well?? What about the food? Is it basically the same kind of food at both places? Chef Mickey's was our first choice but they are booked for the week. Thanks :).

I would suggest keeping Tusker...You can go on the safari when it opens, there is a cute gift shop right there, then head to breakfast.

The food selection is much larger at Tusker...We like the choices much more at Tusker...We also think the characters look so cute in their costumes there...They hold a parade with the characters and instuments every 45 minutes which is lots of fun...They contact time with characters is also good...

Our boys were taken back by the characters at H&V...They were 2 and 3 at the time and very into those particular characters but they look a bit strange because they are so big for characters that are supposed to be children...The characters tried to get the boys interested (I will give them that)...They really just did not enjoy the experience...Yes, there was signing and dancing...Just not enough to get over the short-comings.

Just our experience ;)

Thanks so much! Didn't know about the character parade. That should be fun. And also good to hear about the time you get with the characters :).

Having done both in one trip in '08, I prefer Tusker House.
I loved the classic characters in their safari gear.
Also, the Playhouse Disney breakfast seemed ALOT louder that the rest of the character meals we did that trip. I don't know if it was the building, but I had a headache by the time we left.
Also, if you are judging it by the singing and dancing, most of the kids at H&V wouldn't do it the day we were there... there might have been ten kids up front. HOWEVER, at Tusker House, they passed out shakers to all the kids, and whatever character was in your section led the kids in a parade. Almost all the kids were into that. It was super cute!

well we had lunch at H&V vs. breakfast BUT, I can say the quality of food at H&V seemed less than all the other meals we had, including Tusker House (breakfast). H&V was more like......cafeteria food. But I'm thinking for breakfast it can't be bad. I mean, how can you screw up toast, bagels, pancakes, bacon, etc? Tusker House only has character breakfasts so maybe you could do H&V another day for lunch (if you're not looking to do any other breakfasts) if your kids will really love the H&V characters.

This is killing me. I have reservations at Crystal Palace and H&V, both for 8am breakfasts (different days) and I need to cancel one. My little guy LOVES Manny, Oso, and the Little Einsteins and he could not care less about anything Pooh.

I, however, like better food!! Do I be a good mom and take my DS to H&V or do I go for the better food at CP?
