Tusker House or Flame Tree

My family usually skips eating at AK or just goes to RFC. But, I really want to go to a counter-service for lunch then go over to Epcot for Dinner.

We have been to the Restaurantsourous (nothing special there). I have read some pretty good things about the Tusker House and Flame Tree. Which should I choose? Or are they both pretty good? Thanks

I love Flame Tree... make it a permanent fixture on all my AK trips, I haven't really had a bad meal there. On the other hand, I really don't like Tusker House. IMHO, they have tried to "upscale" quick service and failed miserably. Other people, however, love the place.

Pizzafari is actually pretty good in it's own right if you were interested in that.

Just my opinion....

Haven't eaten at Flame Tree yet, but hope to in the near future. But we did have lunch at Tusker House and really enjoyed it. Love that rotisserie chicken! They also were very efficient in filling orders. Tusker House has indoor seating, and it seems to me that Flame Tree has mostly (or all??) outdoor seating. Depending on when you're going, that could make a difference.

We have eaten at both Tuskers and Flame Tree, and feel that Flame Tree's food quality is inconsistent, where we have never had a bad meal at Tuskers. So, I have had just the opposite experience of solotraveler! When we ate at Flame Tree in May, my BBQ chicken salad was excellent, but my DH's ribs were so tough he threw them away (don't feel too bad for him though, because he enjoyed his huge piece of chocolate cake with gusto!). We also prefer the ambience at Tuskers to that of Flame Tree, and have been fortunate to experience the parade of African singers/drummers that sometimes makes their way through the restaurant. I think when you are dealing with fast food, and having to feed lots of people, you just have to expect that sometimes they (the WDW fast food places) just aren't going to hit it right every time.

we have eaten at both and prefer tusker house. i was very disappointed in my chicken salad at flame tree. never had a bad meal at tusker for either breakfast or lunch. and they have those wonderful cinammon rolls in the bakery there!! yum!

A big vote for Flame Tree! Both times I've eaten there I've really enjoyed my meal. Both times I've eaten at Tusker I've been really disappointed with my meal - to the point of just throwing it away mostly untouched.

Didn't like Flame Tree, except for the seating down by the water. The BBQ pork sandwich was very, very dry--even after I applied plenty of sauce. The place where you get the sauce was a mess & the CM behind the counter was surly to the point of being rude. It was near the end of the day, so maybe that had something to do with it. Never have had a bad meal at TH. Rotis chicken meal is delicious & carrot cake for dessert is great. I miss the fantastic "Beef stew in a bread bowl" they used to serve!

Flame Tree and its delicious BBQ Chicken salad. This is an Animal Kingdom staple for me.

Get the salad, a slice of Chocolate cake and go grab a nice seat down by the water for a wonderful Lunch.
