I need help deciding which one, I have read really good reviews for both. My kids (14, 11, and 5) have only requested to see Minnie. This will be their first trip to Disney that they'll be old enough to remember so I really want it to be memorable but reality is we're on a budget. Therefore this will be our only character meal which doesn't bother me because they didn't ask for a character meal it was my decision to do this for them. From the reviews both seem to offer good food with sufficient character time.

So let me know your choice and why. Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for Minnie, Cape May has her. Tusker House has Daisy. The only other character breakfast at this time that has Minnie is Chef Mickey's.

I found the interaction time to be better at cape may than tusker house.

I know Cape May has Minnie, but don't remember if TH does. I think both breakfasts are good, so I would pick based on your theme park plans. TH is in AK. So, if you are planning to do AK theme park and can get an ADR before the park opens, then TH is great. You eat and can be first in line to ride the Safari ride when the park opens. If you are going to take a day off from the theme parks, head over to Cape May, hang on the beach afterwards, ride the boat to DHS, and have some fun.

Minnie is at TH. We ate there a couple of weeks ago and it was great. We found both to be your standard quality buffet foods. I personally liked TH better, although it is a harder ADR to get. I thought they had more variety and I liked the juice they served! Cape May is a good meal and I would go back. Honestly I think either is good and I'd go with whatever fits your touring plan better. Cape May is hard to get to unless you are staying at an Epcot area resort.

We've never eaten at Tusker House, but we love Cape May.....it's our favorite for breakfast :goodvibes.

If you want Minnie then I would do Cape May because Minnie is not a regular at TH (it's Donald, Goofy, Mickey and Daisy). But TH is a great choice and I do not think that you could go wrong with it if you end up booking it.

I would also pick Cape May based on the character interaction because it top notch both mornings we ate there. The characters really made over all of the kids and lingered at the tables having fun. Our kids still talk our breakfasts there and it was their first request when we started planning for their birthday trip.

Have not done Cape May but Tusker House was our least favorite meal last week. Had ADR for 9:15 (park opened at 8:00) - arrived at 9:10 to a mass of people waiting. Got beeper and waited another 30 minutes to get in line to see Donald. Got pic with Donald but he does not do autographs at Tusker. The food was OK but character interaction was quick and very unorganized. I don't know if we caught a bad morning or if this was the norm. We did Crystal Palace and thought the food was great, the characters were very organized, and nothing seemed rushed.

We are going to Cape May for breakfast on our next trip and I can't wait! We "visited" the Beach Club Resort in 2009 when we had some family photos taken on our last trip and had lunch at Beaches & Cream. When we passed by CMC we could see the characters at the tables and both my kids said we HAD to go there next trip. :goodvibes

I've heard nothing but great things. Plus we're going to use the "Friendship" boat to visit DHS after breakfast. Fun! :lovestruc

So to answer your question, my vote is for Cape May Cafe! :thumbsup2

Tusker House is one of our many fave breakfast places. I didnt have to wait long at all to check in. It was pretty quick. I found the characters to be very organized here as well.....and they were hilarious! Daisy is a riot!!!!! I loved them all. The food was incredible too, the biggest variety/selection i've ever seen! just amazing. If you book here, you will not be sorry. Reservations are hard to get thou. As for Cape May, i've never been, but i do have ressies for our upcoming trip...im SUPER excited!!!! i've heard so many great things about this place.

You really cant go wrong with either place to be honest!! Why not let the kids decide????
;) have fun!

We have done both. I prefer Cape May over TH. I thought the character interaction was much better, plus my kids tend to like their buffet better too. I try to get a latter ressie then you will really have the attention of the characters. We are going back in Jan and Cape May is on our must do list.

Donald's Safari Breakfast is one of the few repeats we've done.

The food and atmosphere at Tusker are quite unique - better than your average breakfast buffet because of the African food and cultural influences.

Food is exceptional, character stops at the table were good - I think you get better character interaction with a later adr - after 10am, when it is not as busy and they aren't concerned about turning the table over.

It's been a few years for us, but CM was a much calmer and less stressful experience that TH. TH has concrete floors, so there isn't as much sound absorbtion. Cape May just seemed to fit the theme more (it's a beach theme) - more laid back and easy going.

TH did have some non-traditional breakfast food offerings, if that matters.

Tough call- we did both last week and they were among our favorites. Tuskerhouse house was my favorite but that could just be b/c I love tater tots. The food was so much better than some of the others, but Cape May was right up there in terms of quality. It did seem that Tuskerhouse had more options, but Cape May had some good choices too. I would pick Cape May if your kids want to see Minnie. She was not at Tuskerhouse the last 2 times we went. Minnie looks so cute in her beach wear and the characters did make it to our table twice.

They're both good for characters and food. You wont go wrong with either but I lean toward Tusker. I think its got better atmosphere with its colors, woodwork and theme. They usually have africans playing their traditional music which adds even more to the flavor. If you're going to AK, then its a must do for the day you go.

Love the atmosphere, characters and food at Tusker House! :thumbsup2 The veggie quiche was soooo good.
