Any reviews on the new character breakfast? We have an ADR for April! Would love to hear someone's experience.

Thanks
Judith

I would love to hear about it as well. We made ADR for August already. We weren't fans of Resturantasaurus so am hoping this is better.

We had been to the old Donald's breakfast four times and we always enjoyed it. We just went to the new one at Tusker house last week.... AND our review is a mixed bag:

1) We loved the larger selection of food and the food was very good.
2) Thought the marketplace area to get the food was very large and set up nicely-it is nice not to have to wait on one long line, instead there are individual stations that you can take from.
3) Nice to see Daisy, Donald, Mickey and Goofy-BUT WE MISSED PLUTO.
4) The room we were in was very small, crowded with too many tables and was very loud. There is a larger room as well.
5) Character interaction was not as good as the other-think it was because there was not enough room for them to move around and get comfortable with the kids. The tables were just too close together. The characters really moved quickly through the room
6) Atmospher and decor was very nice.
7) Server was excellent.
8) The festival parade was fun... Goofy came to the room and they gave the kids noise makers... They all marched around and danced... Very cute!

Overall, we had a nice experience... Not great.

We ate there on Monday morning, Feb 4th. Our ADR was for 9:30am, but they were running 15-20 minutes behind so we weren't seated until around 9:50am. We were at WDW with DH's high school band (the meal was just the three of us, though) so we couldn't do a really early ADR like we normally do. I'm a big fan of doing the breakfast ADR as early as possible so that you are in the park before others.

They do take your picture before, but we didn't buy the photo.

We enjoyed the food. There is traditional breakfast buffet food (eggs, biscuits, bacon, etc), but there's also breakfast food similar to what you'd find at Boma, Yum!! The juice they give you at the table is GREAT!

The characters were okay. It's Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daisy. They were really slow and all clumped together. We were finished our meal before we saw the first character. I think an ideal character meal is one where you see the characters throughout your meal, not right after the other at the very end. So we were a bit disappointed with that, but I'm sure that varies each day. They do a cute song with the kids...they dance around with the kids so DS enjoyed that.

OKay...just read someone else's review and they mentioned Pluto. Never saw Pluto our entire meal...never saw him in our room so not sure if he was even there. If he was there, he never made it into our room in the hour or so we were there! We were in the larger room and the same characters were in there our entire meal. I didn't know Pluto was supposed to be there?

did they have cereal or pancakes or waffles there? The menu on allears does not mention them. My kids wont eat eggs

Firstly, thanks for sharing your experience at the new Tusker House breakfast. :goodvibes

Pluto was at the old AK character breakfast at Restaurantosaurus, but I think they've replaced him with Daisy now that the character breakfast has been moved/changed. ;)

That is correct.... no more Pluto at Donald's breakfast :confused3 . We miss him! He can be seen now by Dino land with Goofy. We stood on a very short line to get a pic with them.

We ate there this past December and it was GREAT!! The food was really really good and alot to chose from! even the Jambo, Mambo or whatever BO juice it was very tasty! LOL

the buffet had eggs, hashbrowns, grits, omelets, tons of pastries, fruit, and some WONDERFUL potatoes that had great flavor with it. Alot of other food to chose from as well. I would HIGHLY recommend this ADR restaurant. well worth the money! Oh..and we are 2 adults with NO KIDS, and loved the character interaction...we were like kids!

TWO ENTHUSIASTIC THUMBS UP!

Loved it, loved it!! Characters were Mickey, Goofy, Donald and daisy like previously mentioned. Very good choice of foods, and yes I did see cereal and pancakes, freshly baked ham being carved, some unusual african inspired dishes, a huge range of hot dishes, i was wowed! the juice they bring you is fabulous too. had a very good server who brought plenty of refills and made sure she was on hand to take photos as i was on my own with the kids.
The music parade was cute, all the kids are given a percussion instrument and encouraged to dance with and around the character in their section.
My only semi-negative comment, and its not even that really, is that the tables were a little packed in and the characters were a little rushed, but plenty of time for hugs, autographs and photos.
I really really loved it here, and the food and service for me was on par with crystal palace, my other favourite. i will definately eat here again. And of course if you get that 8am ressie like I did you are in pole position in the park for the safari:goodvibes

Could someone tell me what the backdrop looks like for the photo that they take before you are seated?

Thanks so much!

They had cereal in the large containers. No more individual boxes. You take what you want and there was milk next to the cereal selection (many times you need to ask the server for the milk but not at Tusker). There were a few choices.

They had Mickey waffles at the adult and kids stations. They were yummy!

I can't remember if there were pancakes. We did not have them.

Oh has anyone mentioned they have straws in AK now! We were so excited. They are made of recycled paper. It is weird at first not to feel the plastic on your lips but we were just so happy the kids could drink out of a cup with a top/ straw! It is the little things in life:lmao:

Wow I have just worked the last two nights so I haven't checked until now everyone's responses. Last trip we didn't see Donald for autographs once - anywhere LOL. Now its kindof a family joke that DOnald is avoiding us. So thats why I booked it. If we get to see Donald and have a little something to eat we are good. Thanks everyone!!! Great reviews good and bad. I think we'll keep our ADR!!

We ate there in Dec and we loved it. I would definitely go there again. There is SOOOO much food to choose from. The only thing I didn't really like was the waitress told us that the characters only come by every 30 minutes, so we spent a lot of time waiting for the characters to come by. Other than that, it was excellent food!
