Would I want to make an ADR at Tusker House breakfast at 8:00 or 10:30 and why?

Thanks for your opinions!

I voted early. DH and I like to get in during morning EMH, get our fastpasses for the safari and then go to breakfast. By time we're done, we can go straight on the safari.

I voted early too. It's so much easier to get seated in the first 'round' IMO. Less waiting/ hassle. Also we go on NON-EMH days ideally at 8:00 by the time we're done eating it's almost time for the park to open and we're right there ready to jump into the safari line (hopefully up near the front LOL)

I agree with what Good Morning Dewdrop said. I like to be there for the first round of seating and be done with breakfast right before the park is opening. I personally don't like to stop touring a park to wait around to be seated for meal.

I voted early. By the time you get seated and start eating, you'll be starving. And, if you plan on seeing animals, earlier is better as they go into hiding a lot. The 8:00 ADR will get you out around 9:00, and you'll have the prime animal viewing times.

With the 10:30 ADR, by the time you get seated, they'll be close to taking the breakfast food away, and putting out lunch.

But, if you would like to try their lunch also, you would be able to. So, if you want to get both breakfast and lunch food, you might want to take the late ADR as brunch. Check the new ADR online system to see what time lunch starts.

Late. Because I can't get 5 kids up, washed, and dressed and to any park by 8:00! :rotfl2: because I don't want to get up at 6am on vacation :thumbsup2 because I am too exhausted from the day before to get up that early :guilty:

Seriously (I was serious) we do the late sitting as kind of a brunch. We let the kids eat a little breakfast in the room in shifts while everyone is getting ready.

I am not voting, but I thought you may want to consider the last time we had a 10:40ish, they were running late. We did the picture thing, sat, got a serving of breakfast, then waited on the characters. By the time we were done with the characters and went to the buffet for the rest of (actually our breakfast, first plate was very quick), lunch was on the buffet. Just a little blurb to let you know with the later reservation, you may get both.

I think that you should do the 10:30 b/c I would like your 8am ADR..:lmao:

We like to get up and get going while we're there, so we always book early b'fasts and late dinners - that way if we need to crash at the hotel mid-afternoon we still have time in the afternoon to do it..

but seriously..I need a ADR at Tusker for Sunday, June 13th.....:rotfl:

If you have kids, it depends on your kids, any time change etc. Early will maximize park time. You will be finishing up breakfast just as the park opens. However, you are also probably going to have to leave your hotel at least an hour ahead of time to get there. My DD is not a morning person. We also had a one hour time change to consider. Getting her to the parks at rope drop was not easy. Getting her there an hour ahead of time for an ADR was impossible. We had an 8:30 a.m. Tusker house reservation on our first trip with her, and by a couple of days into our trip I knew there was no way we would be able to get there in time, so I cancelled it and luckily was able to get a late one even though it was for the next day. The later one worked fine for us. If you are early risers, the early one would be great. If not, you might want to consider the later time.

We just got back from a weeklong trip and we did the early breakfast. We were done by 8:50 a.m. or so and we were able to get to the front of the safari line. While waiting in line we could see the mad dash of people who had just been admitted into the park.

As long as it is not an EMH morning day, you will be able to get into the park early and take pictures with no "extra" people in them, and have a head start to the attractions...LOVE Tusker House!!!

I voted late because I'd like to check out the park and maybe ride a few rides and get any fastpasses I might need right away, and then go for a late breakfast at 10:30

Well, that and the fact that I'd never get my family to AK before actual park opening.

Voted 'late' because I like to head to AK on an EMH morning, tour for a few hours, then eat a late breakfast/early lunch....especially during the warmer months.

My kids are early risers so there would be no problem getting them there at 8:00 (the parents on the other hand are another story).

I am hearing early if it is non EMH and late if it is EMH. Should I not avoid the park if it is EMH because of crowds? I am trying to understand all the dynamics of which park to visit on what day.

I voted early. It gets really busy at Tusker House and the lines to the buffet get very long. Eating early there will be less lines and you should still be done by 9:30 in plenty of time to ride the safari early.

I vote early as well except on EMH mornings. With that being said, I screwed up and scheduled an 800a on EMH and have been checking everyday to get one later or another day. But nothing the week we are there, the 19 thru 27. Good luck!

to answer your follow up question - I said "non-EMH" day because to us the first hour (or 2) after the park opens - being either EMH or non - is like the golden hour. To spend it at a TS meal is (to us) wasted time.

So for example when we go in September.....

Sunday is a non-EMH day (no EMH in the am anywhere) - so I scheduled Tusker House breakfast at 8:10 am. We'll eat breakfast and then beetle to K. Safari. Thus not missing any great park time.

On the following Monday it's AM EMH for AK - we don't have a breakfast scheduled anywhere - we'll be there bright / early (probably do safari first again). We love AK

Later in the week on AM EMH at MK day - no early breakfast scheduled - we'll eat in the room - but then we have a late breakfast scheduled - 11:00 at 1900 PF.

I hope that helps.

We've done both, and we prefer the later time.

We were there at Xmas this year. We were at the park for opening, rode Everest, did Dinosaur, and Primeval Whirl, grabbed safari FPs, had our breakfast, and then went on the safari right after breakfast because our FPs were up by that point. It worked well for us, and that's what we plan to do when we're there in July.

Where exactly in Animal Kingdom is Tusker House located? Part of our group is doing an early character breakfast (on non-EMH day), the other part is not, and we want to find a convenient spot to meet up!
