What are your thoughts on the later seating times at these character breakfasts? I was able to get a 10:10 ADR for Tusker (breakfast ends at 10:30) and Akershus is fairly open (we were thinking of 10:30 - breakfast ends at 11:10). HOWEVER, I have two concerns:

1. Since both places serve lunch, I wasn't sure if they rush people out, run out of breakfast foods, or hurry the characters?

2. We are RD people, but I hate to miss early morning touring time to stop and have breakfast 1 hour or so in to the day. This will be August, so it will be really hot when we walk outside after our meal and crowded.

Thoughts? Other suggestions? I could do the 8:00 at Akershus, but I don't think I will find 8:00 at Tusker at this point.

Thanks for your help!

We ALWAYS do the "brunch" time. The character interaction is GREAT especially at Tusker house. They actually take there time and really we thought we had better interaction than some of the pre rd meals we had done at other places. The food was hot and plentiful. It worked great with rope drop. We did a few rides, got some fp's and then had a nice break before hitting the parks again.

Asherk. we didn't see any difference in. They seem to sit you in big groups there not as staggered as other restaurants so they didn't have anyone seating for lunch until EVERYONE was out of there. We were one of the last people to leave.

We had a 10:25am ressie at Tusker House and were not in any way rushed. The hot food was still hot & the cold food was still cold. Items were refreshed as they ran out too. Character interaction was wonderful as well!

I like the later seatings. By then I'm ready for some food and a break from the park.

I also like the later seating for breakfast! We did Tusker at 10:05 and in no way were we rushed, we LOVED it I think it was one of our favorites:) We also did a late Crystal Palace breakfast and loved that as well; it was much better than the 8:05 pre RD the year before. I think by the 10:00 hour the crowds for breakfast have really thinned out and it's more relaxed.

I agree. We do akershus every year, and always do 10. It makes for an unrushed morning. You can enter the park, go get a soaring fast pass, and then walk to akershus. By the time you finish eating, your fast pass is ready to go. You might even get to hit the maelstrom before you leave Norway.

I love akershuhs. Even if there were no princesses, it would be a good eat. The princesses rotate. Saw jasmine one year, but not since.

Good to hear about the late morning reservations. We have a 10:05 at Tusker House and I was a little concerned about feeling rushed or having them replace food when needed. You put my mind at ease :).

We always do the latest reservation as brunch. We've done Tusker House, Boma, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, and probably others I can't think of right now.

Never rushed, great character interaction. Food is refreshed right until the end. Sometimes the server asks what we would want more of so they know what to refresh.

We just had 10:20 reservations at TH, and though we didn't feel rushed we had to (1) wait a long time to be seated and (2) wait a long time for the characters...to me this was really annoying. I felt like we were losing time in the park, plus the staff wasn't that helpful/friendly and it felt disorganized. That said, they were not switching food out or letting it run out while we were there, so I would not have any worries about the food availability for a later seating.

We have found that at Tuskerhouse the later the seating, the longer the wait to be seated (same with 1900 Park Fare...we'll never take a late seating there again!). We never felt rushed to finish though once we were in. One of the benefits is that while they will leave out breakfast foods you may also get to enjoy lunch when they start turning it over. In fact, we had one of the first lunch seatings once and we had to wait for the breakfast crowd to be done with the characters becasue lunch does not have characters so they would not let any of us in (even though there were tables available) untill everyone in there for breakfast had seen all the characters.

Akershus seats in groups so that should not cause any strain on your activity.

When we have been to breakfast at the lunch overlap time, if something was put away in the change out we just asked for more of it and it was brought out...so I don't think you will have a problem with getting the breakfast food at breakfast.

If one wanted to get a late seating for breakfast to make it into the luch time at Tusker House, what time should one make the reservation?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that they serve lunch until all breakfast guests have left. The last breakfast ADR is 10:30am while the first lunch ADR is 11:30am.
