Just got back from WDW. (WARNING: This is all MHO)
All the focus has been on the Stitch attraction in the MK. Did it, hated it, won't go back in, telling everyone not to waste their time.

However, Disney has created a true gem which is getting no buzz. Turtle Talk in The Living Seas. Now, I haven't been in TLS for a few years, because to me it was just an aquarium. (Sidebar...the aquarium looked barren hardly any marine life in it.)

But went to check out this new show and it is fantastic. You enter a small theater with low benches and the kids sit on the floor in the front.

The front looks like an aquarium/sea floor (really good CGI). The show is all interactive You call for Crush and he swims up. The idea is that you will learn about turtles and he will learn about humans and especially parenting.

Crush does a good job of getting the audience to participate. He can see the audience and will point out people and talk with them. There is a CM wandering the audience with a microphone and Crush will direct them to the person he wants to talk to. It was fun, entertaining, and worth the wait. Definitely plan to experience it again. Some people are saying this is the future of Disney attractions.

I give it two flippers WAY up, dude!

Cha!!

Just back from WDW as well and this is a really fun and cool attraction. Blows Stitch away.

We loved it too.

What is not to like? Fun interaction with both parents and kids. I bet it cost 1% of Stitch and 100 times better.

Turtle Talk is great. The actor they had voicing Crush was wonderful and the computer graphic puppet turtle was a joy to watch. Disney has a real winner on its hands here and they need to promote it more heavily.

I have just returned from Disney as well and I have to agree Stitch was HORRIBLE!

My husband and I both loved Alien Encounter and were looking forward to taking his parents to see it this trip. We were even telling my MIL that it wasn't that scary. I found Stitch very boring and not worth the lines.

Maybe they thought that Alien Encounter was too scary for kids? Didn't seem any sacrier than some of the video games or movies they see though.

I can't wait to go meet Crush in Turtle Talk. It sounds like a really neat shopw.

Crush totally rocks, dude!

We loved the show and went back a second time another day. I do wish that there was a way to get into the show without going though the hydrolator area. I suppose if it were easier to get to it would become extremely crowed. It is a hidden gem for sure and I'm glad that I read about it on these dicussion boards so I would know that it was worth our time.

T&B

We agree it was GREAT - a tremendous new addition (as are the photo ops with Bruce next door). The funniest was the "human artifact"

Crush IS really great and DOES outshine Stitch...But Stitch is no more horrible than Alien Encounter was, IMO.

Jim Hill had really good article up on it today, it sounds like a lot of fun.

I sawthe Crush show last week and it was great. It breaths new life into a dying pavillion. Stitch was pretty lame but I hated the movie too so I may not be the best source.

I'm confused. Does Crush "actually" talk to you, or is it all pre-recorded? Is it animated on a screen, or is there really a live, working "turtle" there in front of you? Can you have actual conversations with crush???

My son LOVES Crush, Nemo, and all them... and as you can see from my post thing, so do I!!

I also heard there is something with Bruce in it too. Has anyone seen this???

He talks to a group at a time, though it is in "Krush's" voice. But he will ask to speak to kids by what they are wearing and respond to questions. It's truly interactive

Think of a computer generated puppet Crush (projected on a large screen), but done so well as to be almost indistinguishable from the film. This turtle is VERY beleivable and can fully engage in conversations. Since there is a hidden cast member providing Crush's voice and controling his movements the experience is very interactive. Crush can see you and respond to your questions and gestures both verbally and with movements and gestures. None of this is prescripted or recorded. Its all ad-libbed. For all intents and purposes, you are part of a live 2 way conversation with an animated Dinsey character. When I saw him, Crush told jokes (Crush, peering out at the audience from the screen: "Dudes, don't panic, but there is like totally no water in your tank"), answered questions from kids (Kid: "Why do people swim in the ocean?", Crush: "I guess they wanna be like Turtles dude") and lead chears ("Cha!", "Dude!"). It was pure Disney magic.

As for Bruce, yes there is a small, static photo op added in a new shark area. Basically you take a picture of a friend or family member in Bruce's mouth. A large fiberglass model of Bruce's head (with grinning mouth open) is on display in the shark area. A guest crawls into the shark's mounth from the back of the model and another guest snaps their picture. Its a fun little extra.

It's not a puppet or live, it's CGI but the movements are controlled by the CM talking to you.
The Bruce exhibit/show was in the next room, but we didn't go in. It looked more like a kids playground from the outside.

Which is basically the equivilent of a computer generated puppet.
