Turtle Talk worth the time?

My 8 year old daughter loved it, and it wasn't too bad for adults. Even if you're not interested, its a good time to rest.

It's really cute. We still quote some of the jokes from the show. I have a video of our daughter asking a question and Crush answering, and we love to watch it. You also have a lot of time for your son to see Finding Nemo before your trip. In addition to Finding Dory coming out this summer, which is almost certain to be a hit, I think you'll want to see them. Plus, aside from Crush, you can take your picture inside Bruce! It will be more meaningful if he's seen the movie and knows the characters.image.jpeg

We all love it. It's completely interactive, and he is really funny. My boys are 13 and 9 and have this on their don't miss list.

The wait for the show is entertaining because of the tanks and items in the lobby area.

I can't figure out why anyone can't find time to watch a 2hour movie over the course of 8+ months.

Why was that information included in the post? It reminds me of one of those crazy math problems, "If a blue train was headed west at 60miles per hour on Tuesday in 1945, and a red bus was headed east going 40mph a year later, then what color was the blue train?"

The question here isn't if Crush is worth the wait. I mean, what wait?

The real question is HOW LONG of a wait is Turtle Talk worth?

Unfortunately, the OP is asking us to attach a quantitative answer to a quantitative question, and that can't be done, because the answer is entirely personal.

I've seen the show, but sometimes the wait exceeds the value I place on seeing the show.

snotty response above mine aside, I don't think that you need to have seen Nemo to enjoy the hell out of Crush and Turtle Talk, which is what I think you are really asking. January is not a real busy time to go so waits are not likely to be long - probably just the length of the previous show if you happen to time it exactly WRONG and get there right as a show is starting that you can't enter. It's such a fun thing, even as an adult I enjoy it. I mean, if you see it a few times some of the jokes are the same, but the show is different every time because of interaction with an answers by the kids. Crush is silly and funny and fun and the kids are all laughing their head off at his jokes. You don't need the context of the movie to enjoy so... enjoy!

YES! My kids still love it and look forward to it and they are in college. :)

snotty response above mine aside...
Sorry if you thought my reply was snotty. I was just trying to figure out what the OP was really asking. I think we agree the original query could have been worded more effectively.

I was floored to discover:
1. many ADULTS find the Small World dolls creepy!
2. many people avoid the Boardwalk's clown pool!

3. many kids happily waited 3+ hours to see Anna+Elsa in Norway!
4. my family hated BOG!

BOG is the most popular eatery in all of WDW, but much of my family hated it! They hated waiting 30+ minutes past our ADR (while hungry). They also hated it because it was a long walk in the rain. I didn't book BOG to make my family miserable.

I know my family and the kind of food they like to eat at WDW very well.

And I STILL I totally misjudged their reaction when it came to BOG.

I don't know the OP's son.

lol I know all of that is true (but don't agree with it). I am from brooklyn so it takes a lot more to creep me out.

I think what the OP was saying was does it matter if you don't see Nemo before TT. TT doesn't really tie in with the movie except having the same character and is a whole lot of fun. After all is said and done whether something is worth it is truly an individual opinion but the fact that the child hasn't seen Nemo will not reduce his enjoyment of the show.

I had my heart set on BoG for dinner the night of the MVMCP but am considering doing narcoossees the night before and moving my very early ohana reservation to the night of the xmas party. Another long wait situation there. Bad BoG reviews make me wonder if I should even bother!

I got the impression that this was just part of her query.

Is it a requirement? not at all. Does it help? Statistically, yes. Disney has made several attractions using characters that the audience doesn't know. Some of them work, some flop. (Splash is based on Song of the South. Guests under age 40 don't know it, yet the ride is very popular. PotC became wildly more popular after the PotC movies. Other WDW shows based on unknown characters have flopped. One was in Tomorrowland a few years ago. I forgot the name.)

I also kind of go back to the first sentence I posted...again I'm not trying to be snotty- but perhaps we don't have enough information. Maybe the OP didn't know about the upcoming Finding Dori sequel.

It also occurred to me maybe this boy doesn't know (m)any Disney characters. If that's the case, it probably will have some impact on his enjoyment. Odds are good, he will have some preference for characters he knows best. Today's kids don't pay much attention to the Pete's Dragon float, they don't know Pete.

One great things about Epcot- is that it only has a few FP attractions. There's really only three: TT, Soarin', and the new Norway ride (only while it is new). Most of the day, you can roam Epcot and do as you please. You don't need to decide in 6months in advance. In other words, probably the best approach is to let the boy decide what he wants to do, when he sees the attraction. My favorite part of the Crush show is the jellyfish tanks in the preshow area! but if he doesn't want to see the show, there are plenty of other options. The big aquarium is huge, plus the manatees, smaller tanks, and the electronic quizzes. The best approach is often to allow kids to explore the pavilion at their own pace.

Last, if the movies aren't an option- there's a ton of DISNEY books! There's aline of beautiful inexpensive anthologies. The library is alos likely to have a ton of books!

My wife and I, mid to late 20 somethings and without kids, absolutely loved Turtle Talk. But, I gotta say, the kid interaction really sticks out for me. One kid asked Crush if he was real, which garnered a "woaaaaah, duuuuuuude" response. So totally gnaly.

No. The original poster (me) was asking if Turtle Talk is worth the time to see if you have no previous experience with the character. That's all I needed an answer on since I have never seen the show. Whether it is worth a wait or how long of a wait were immaterial the my question. I simply wanted to know if going to see Crush was worth it if one didn't know him from Nemo.

Sorry you found my request poorly worded. I found your response to be snitty, so I guess we are even.

And for the record, we have yet to be successful getting our ADHD son to sit through much more than an episode of Phineaus and Ferb before he wants to be on to the next thing. Finding the time to watch the movie isn't the issue either.
