Does anyone know if they still offer the tour at Vero Beach to see the turtles laying their eggs at the local beach/turtle preserve? We went on the night tour a few years ago and had the wonderful experience of witnessing a giant sea turtle coming onto the beach to lay her eggs. We were thinking of doing this again this summer if it is still available at Vero. Any info is appreciated!

Was it the Turtle Troop Adventure? If so, it's still listed on the member perks page on the website, so I'm sure they offer it at least some of the time.

We were in Vero last August and their was a turtle excursion but it was at 8:00 am in the morning. Didn't see any turtles laying the eggs but saw the eggs that had just been hatched and were able to follow the trail of the turtle back to the ocean. The kids had fun but were a little disappointed that they didn't actually see the turtles. They did get to adopt a turtle as part of the excursion.

This turtle excursion was sponsored by the Carribean Conservation Corps. This was a trip taken at 10:30 PM to the local refuge. We waited until about 11:30 PM while then guide walked up and down the beach to find the turtles. Once one was spotted and began digging the hole to lay her eggs, we ran down the beach and quietly watched. It was really a great adventure!
