Has anyone used the Turo site to rent cars?

Never have but there are some older threads that discuss this. Also search around online to get an idea of the kinds of problems some people have had. Some try to ding you for bogus 'wear/tear' charges or claim you returned the car too dirty. Personally, I would never rent from a private party since there are way too many things that could go wrong. Others also reported that at the last minute they may cancel and then you are stuck with no transportation.
