Turo at MCO?

We can’t rent from an “on-airport” car rental company for less than $500 for the week of 4/4-4/11. However, we could rent a tesla for like $400 from Turo. That would save us on gas and would certainly be a lot more enjoyable than driving whatever mid-size sedan that dollar or budget have in their garage.

My concern about Turo is the pick up and the drop off. I don’t want to add a lot of time and complication to our trip. Where would we pick up the Turo car? Where would we drop it off? What if the owner of the car decides to “ghost us”?

Have you tried UT? I am seeing $244 for those dates on a standard car if you add a movie ticket to the rental. $262 plus the movie ticket for a full size.

I was looking at Turo once with a coworker for a Florida trip and they were checking if they could get their Turo at an airport and we found this link below. It at least indicates where the owners can park.

My guess is that you would have to work out arrangements with the owner on parking areas. As for being ghosted, you would probably have to arrange alternate transportation at the time you arrive and then work with Turo on the issue. I would suggest at least making sure the owner looks to have reliable and multiple reviews. I have another coworker that travels extensively and uses Turo frequently. He said they have had good luck so far with owners, although some pickups can be more difficult than others depending on the size of the city they are in or if they can pickup at an airport or not.

Wow! What? This is crazy! I just booked with undercover tourist for $216 for an intermediate car with budget. That’s the lowest rate I’ve ever seen and I’ve been looking for months. This has to be the ultimate car rental hack.

There were some other threads about using Turo on here a few weeks ago. Might also search around on the net for issues others have had using them. Where you pickup/drop-off can be a concern, what if they don't show or cancel at the last moment? Hopefully, they have the right type of business insurance and what happens in the event of an accident or the car happens to get stolen? Another issue can be the owner claiming excessive wear/tear when you return the vehicle and you will endlessly haggle with them. I personally would never rent a car from a private party as far too many things can go wrong.
