We have been planning on this trip since her first birthday, and now that it is only 5 months away...
She doesn't know yet that we are actually going, we have only talked about in it in the abstract "if we ever take a vacation" sense, she thinks going back to WDW is the same as our summer trips to Holiday World in Indiana--boy, is she going to be surprised!
So far we know we are traveling for 14 days from Kentucky: 2 days on the road each way, 9 days in WDW and 3 days at the beach. Her actual birthday is in June (a date that is not doable with our work schedule) but will celebrate all week long, do breakfast at the Castle on her "birthday" and take her to the beach for the very first time. We don't know what beach yet, we have family in Tampa we so may head that way, I like Gulf Shores and Ponte Vedra, but have never been to the Myrtle Beach/Hilton Head area.
We are staying in AoA Little Mermaid room the first 4 nights, POR Royal Room the last days. I am really excited about staying in a new resort and very excited about the theming and relaxation at POR. So far we have booked the Pirates and Pals cruise, CRT breakfast, Garden Grill lunch, Wave dinner, planning on lunch at BoG and Fantasmic, and are considering Hoop Dee Do or Luau.
The people:
~daughter Z, turning 5 in June: she also had one day at MK in 2011, LOVES Peter Pan, Jessie, Ariel and Tiana and Dumbo
~me S, almost 41: I have been to WDW 4 previous times, as a nanny, with my brother's family, while at a conference after hours and one day at MK in 2011, so I am really looking forward to planning our own way and do exactly what we want to do, on no one else's timeline
~my husband C, age 42: he been to MK once on Valentine's Day 2011 while we were in FL visiting my parents on their snowbird vacation, has never been interested in going to WDW until we had a child
My husband doesn't drive, he barely even tolerates rides in a car. When we drive the 75 minutes to my parent's house every few weeks, he is nutso 40 minutes in--I don't know how he is going to do 14 hours, or why he agreed to it, but I am going with it!
