My son will be turning 3 during our trip in a couple of weeks. I know that 3 is the cutoff for free vs ticketed entry, and normally would not have a concern. But, my son is very big for his age...like off the charts for both height & weight. I was wondering if you all thought that I would be questioned at the gate (and if I needed to provided documentation for that reason). I am one of those people that would rather buy him a pass rather than keep getting questioned about it. Thoughts?

Nope they may ask and that's all. No proof needed. Hope he has a magical birthday.

If he turns three during your trip, officially he doesn't turn three until after your trip is over. If anyone questions you, just tell him he was two when you arrived.

I asked this to customer service once and was told, " No one ages at Disney World."

I have seen the same advice over and over on DIS that you don't need to worry about it and they may ask, but will waive your LO through when you tell them that he/she is 2 or turned 3 during the trip.

However, if you are like me this doesn't alleviate the worry. My son is 42 inches tall in shoes and about 41lbs. He looks nothing like a 2 yo. I don't want to bring a birth certificate or passport (or even a copy) due to the potential of loss. I am going to take a picture of the card that was in his bassinet in the hospital that has his date of birth and our names on it. While I know logically that we won't have any issues, I would much rather have something to substatiate our statement that he is only 2.

I wouldn't buy a ticket because you don't need it, but if it makes you feel better then bring something showing the birthdate.

my dd turned 3 in our last trip (last year) she is huge for her age.. we were never questioned her age.. we were in the disney meal plan and it said there there was an infant so we were never asked about her. ;-)

Just got back from a trip with my 36 inch tall 2 years and 4 months old daughter. She does not look to be just two. We were asked once at the entrance gates how old she is and beyond that no one ever questioned us or said anything.

My husband was concerned but of course not concerned enough to pack any copies of documents to prove her age so he was out of luck if that would have made him feel better!

It really was a total non issue
