Turning 3 During Trip ???

We are planning a WDW vacation from December 2-11 of this year. My dd will turn 3 on December 9. I’ve read that they look at the age of your child at the beginning of your trip so I wouldn’t be expected to buy park passes for her for the last day and a half of our trip – is this correct? Also, we are planning on getting the Dining Plan for our group – 4 adults, a 5 year old and my almost 3 year old. How will that work with her? Will I need to buy the plan for the last 2 days or would I just continue to share/pay OOP for her for those meals. Will her turning the official age of “child” during the trip affect anything else?

The way I see it is that your child is two when the package is purchased and I would not worry about the fact that he/she will turn 3 the last couple of days of the trip. Now if they turn 3 before your actual trip departure, that's a different story and I would pay the extra.

we went for our first trip last May 10-16. DDturned 3 on May 15 so we were not charged for her. I let them operator know when we booked our trip and she told me i would not have to pay for her. I wouldn't worry about that. Now when we checked in to the POP we told the hotel clerk that her birthday was during our visit he asked me who her favorite char. was. The morning of her birthday we headed to epcot told the guy taking the tickets and he stopped announced her birthday to everyone in line and they all sang happy birthday to her and he gave her a birthday pin to wear. In the building in america with the movie of the pres. the singers that come out first pulled her out of the crowd and sang to her. EVERY castmember told her happy birthday. After leaving the park we got back to our room to find that Cinderella had left a framed autographed picture and balloons on her bed. This was a very special birthday that she still talks about today.

Make sure you get the B. Day button too! The CMs will give your b. day child special attention all day - eg free stuff!!!

And I think they go by how old the child is at check-in. So you should be off the hook on passes and the meal plan.
