My wife asked me what I wanted to eat Christmas Day - Turkey or Ham?
I opted for ham. I guess because we just had turkey (I mean a lot of turkey) for Thanksgiving I don't think I feel like it again so soon.
Some years we do only turkey, and some years we do both, but this year we are going to be a bunch of hams. :cool1:

BEEF for us! Either Prime Rib or a full beef tenderloin roast.

Hey...Where's the Beef???

Sorry couldn't resist. I have bought a beef tenderloin. I usually do Prime Rib but this year thought I would try something new.

Munching all day on appetizers here!!! :thumbsup2

But if the choice were ONLY ham or turkey, I would pick ham.

OH MAN, all this talk about beef is getting me hungry (and its not even 9 A.M. yet). I would love to do beef for Christmas day, but nobody in my house is a big beef eater but me. Ham and Turkey are family pleasers, but if it were beef I would be eating alone.

For our family, ham and turkey are on the menu at Thanksgiving. Beef tenderloin for Christmas

Well, there's no reason you can't have BOTH ham and, say, a small prime rib or tenderloin. They are incredibly easy and quick to cook (unlike a turkey). Do both.

Prime rib this year, but we have done tenderloin in the past.

We are having a roast beef for Christmas.

We did ham at Thanksgiving. DD8 is on a "Save the Turkeys" kick right now, so we didn't have any for Turkey Day. Apparantly, she doesn't mind if pigs and cows get the axe, though. :rotfl2:

Great idea.

It's funny that you say that. I was just talking to my wife (what a concept, huh? :rotfl: ) and she offered to get me some beef to go along with the ham, just for me - isn't she something!!!
See how valuable these boards are. I wouldn't even had thought of doing something besides ham or turkey, and now it looks like I might get a special treat as well!!!

Cornish Game Hen here....Yuck!
Debbie

My dad always cooks a ham AND a turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas. He also smokes a ham on Mardi Gras day. Don't know why I added that in, but it seems right because everyone looks forward to it. I don't eat ham, so doesn't matter to me...

Turkey screams thanksgiving. I pick ham! Usuallly we have prime rib for christmas though.

Turkey for Thanksgiving. Ham for Christmas!! (Besides, I like ham better!! ;) )

Filet mignon and lobster tails! DH is handling those, and I take care of the side dishes - probably potatoes au gratin, salad, some kind of bread, & dessert.

Both for me. I LOVE ham but everyone else likes turkey mostly.
