DH says "yummy treat" but the last time we got them, they were pretty fatty and grisly.
That's because they are not cooked. They are slow smoked at about 200º F. Before they are put in the smoker, the turkey legs are put in a brine solution for about 8 hours to kill bacteria and help in the preservation of the natural meat juices. They are then smoked for 6 to 8 hours until they reach an internal temperature of 165º to 170º F. They are then flash frozen and shipped to WDW.ryanally said:I voted for EWWWWW!!!! They look under cooked. I try to look the other way when I see someone eating one!
