Turkey Legs - Yummy treat or nasty abomination?

Turkey legs - yummy treat or nasty abomination?

  • Turkey legs - ooooh, turkey legs (Homer voice). Yummy!

  • Turkey legs - eewwwwww. Nastiest stuff this side of a Fear Factor food-eating contest

  • I have no sense of taste and/or smell, so I have no opinion either way

Thousands must really love them or Disney wouldn't continue to sell them :smooth:

Hmm. Oooookayyyyy. I guess the market economics has been dealt with now. :confused3

But, back to the question of the day: Are they are a yummy treat or nasty abomination?

{remember: this is an opinion thread/poll}

Yep It would't be a trip to Disney without one. Just like a big chicken leg but BBQ'd, nothing unusual about them. Must be alot who don't like chicken legs either in this thread.

Okay, now they're turkey/emu/ham/chicken legs? Those sure are melting pot legs. :rotfl:

My family thinks they are YUMMY! They are just smoked thats all. Doesn't anyone eat turkey legs on Thanksgiving? :rolleyes1

They are most certainly an abomination, but my dh made me vote pro-turkey leg! :rotfl2: He is an attractive man, neither hairy nor otherwise slovenly in appearance, so at least when you see him wolfing one down in WS and chasing it with his beer :drinking1 you won't be TOO disgusted. Or will you?!?! :rotfl:

I am also being forced to disclose that as a strict vegan, I would never consume ANY animal product, so my opinion about snack cart meat is therefore invalid (in his opinion). :crazy:

Well, at least he's washing down the abomination with a truly tasty product {beer in my Homer voice}

Why can't WDW outlaw turkey legs in MK and allow :drinking1 ? ;)

But then, that's a WHOLE other topic now, isn't it?

I haven't had one in years, but I recall enjoying them with DH the first few trips to WDW. I must not have loved them too much tho, because I can't recall the last time I had one.

Now I'm craving one tho. Hopefully it's not Euphoric Recall that makes me think I liked them.

Editing to say: now it's THREE people who have no sense of taste or smell! Wow, it's an epidemic.

Well, I do have both those senses, but I've never had a turkey leg, nor smelled them, so I can't say either way. :>

I'm in shock! It is tied 31 to 31 yummy to gross.

DH and I :love: them. In fact, we got into an argument over one because I kept trying to take a bite out of his, and he didn't want to share because it was a particularly tasty turkey leg. :crazy:

I don't like dark meat as a rule, but a LOVE the turkey legs at WDW. We get one every trip! :woohoo:

So then, Emu tastes like ham.......

They so taste like ham I LOVE THEM. See my tag!!! I am hoping to have one this coming trip I so hope universal has them since we won't be in the WDW parks :( this time. Does anyone know if a turkey leg is available anywhere else?

Me and DW finally tried one in our Feb/March trip. It was ok, greasy though. Don't know if I will buy one again.

I pass some wild turkeys (I mean real wild turkeys, not discarded whiskey bottles) on my way to work. Sometimes I even see them on the little hillside they frequent. Shall I grab a turkey leg for you? The little gobblers may not appreciate it too much, though. :rotfl:

LOL sure!!!!! I love turkey ! I think the whole experience of the WDW leg is so much fun.

First time I tried one I thought it yummy. Unfortunately, last go-round I got one that must have been undercooked. Ruined it for me. Indeed, typing this and thinking about eating one just made me throw up in my mouth. :scared:

We love 'em! I must admit, we probably look like the the Barbarian family while eating them but hey two out of four of us wear crocs too, so we obviously aren't worried about appearances! ;)

THis is what I was thinking. What's the big deal? Do people not serve the turkey legs at Thanksgiving?

I had always wondered about the smokey taste of WDW's turkey legs.......wasn't quite sure I would like their "recipe". But last trip my Dsis had one and I had a bite. Yummy!! We will get at least one every trip from now on. It tastes just like moist, delicious ham. :thumbsup2

:crazy2: Although I have never tried one....I vote NASTY. Just looking at them makes my stomach turn.
