TURKEY LEGS - Not Real Turkey?

:crazy2: Yes, they are turkey legs...BLAHHHHHHHH I hate them, I only eat white meat on a turkey or chicken. They actually make me gag when I see people walking around with them.

::yes:: I totally agree. BTW they were my mom's money saving tip for me. She said that they would replace a much more expensive meal :crazy2:

Everybody knows -- they're really Emu.

:lmao:

I always thought that as well...

Honestly i don’t know how people do it...
every time I see that cart i just want to buy a turkey leg so i can hit someone with it...but then i think of the grease mark and the horrible squish it would make …so i walk away....

I'm sorry, but I could never be seen walking around eating one! LOL

My DD loves any meat off of a bone. She always gets the drumstick at Thanksgiving, and goobles it up. When we go in August, I am going to buy her a turkey leg, so people can see this tiny little 9yo gobbling up a turkey leg. :lmao:

Maybe our 9yo daughters are twins and we don't know it!! She can't wait to get one when we go! I have fond memories of my first WDW turkey leg::yes::

i have tried one and didn't dig it. i generally like the dark meat on a turkey, but i am used to the meat falling off the bone and all those tendon things pulled out of it before i sit down to eat it. yes, i am the one doing the pulling and primping, but on the legs at WDW, those tendons are just all up in my face.....no thanks. if i want something that tastes lik ham i will have ham. if i want turkey i will have turkey. no mixing flavors please. (this from the girl who does not like sweet and sour. it is either one or the other - pick a team.)

although - i would love to try one of those cajun fried turkeys....those sound yummy.

If those are the size of the legs can you imagine the size of the BREASTS????

Our family gets at least one every time we make a Disney trip. We actually like them. Of course I do get a weird feeling when we're eating them.....like maybe we're closet rednecks or something.:goodvibes

I always thought they smelled and looked GREAT but they're near the dole whip float stand and.. well.. guess who wins.

Then before my last trip I read on here about the tendons and.... well.. that kind of sealed the deal of me NEVER trying one. EVER.

I got one at MGM my last trip and although I thought it tasted O.K. my stomach had other opinions! I barely made it back to the hotel... to much grease for me!!! :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

I watched a couple sharing one the last time I was there and thought why... If I were going to eat something loaded with sodium tasting like ham for my snack, I would go to Casey's and have a decadent hot dog.. JMO, never could understand those turkey legs. :confused3

My thoughts exactly. My friend and I split one on our last trip and it just didn't taste the way I wanted....I wanted roast turkey out of an oven taste and I got...well.....jerky like taste:crazy2: .

I tried it a couple of times, because you just might have an off day, and this time was the last. It might be me, might be the turkey, but I will save it for the turkey lovers and go to Caseys with you. :thumbsup2

I don't get it: why is eating a huge turkey leg in public any more off-putting than someone stuffing their face with cotton candy and getting pink/blue tongued, or someone slobering over a huge ice cream cone with rivulets of melt running down their chins, or someone drinking down a 64 oz cola in 2 gulps???

Oh well...I'm going to seek one out on my upcoming trip and enjoy it despite the negativity in this thread. :)
