Turkey Day Gang 2009

I am so tired from the Daisy trip to the Petting Farm and pumpkin picking,

But I got everything ready for our day at the water parks and then the annual Adult Only halloweeen Party.

Last year our group took first place for our "Red Neck Togas" (no offense to anyone it is a take on something near us) and this year we are going as Dexi's Midnight Riders. Just got done moving the song to the iphone. We will be doing the dance as part of our costume. Bad thing is I have to be at work at 8:30am Sunday so no late night fun for me.

Hi Turkey Gang,

Newbie here...my husband and 13 year old son are going to be on the Magic this coming Thanksgiving. Anyone else going with kids that age?

Welcome to the gang!! :thumbsup2 Our DS is 10. Sometimes he acts older than his age and other times he acts younger!! :rotfl2:

OK - One more post for the night. It's nice to be back on my home computer instead of that hotel connection. It was driving me crazy.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend. I'm sure those of us meeting up tomorrow will give some kind of report. Just watch out - if we all report that everyone else is really strange you'll be in for a fun cruise! :rotfl:

Just having a blonde moment...and it made me laugh too! Thanks for making me feel like apart of the gang!! SOOO anyway...I was wondering if anyone else had kids in the same "kids club age" as my son (13) we were on this cruise last year and while he loved the clubs(ie:video game heaven) most of the kids were there with friends and not really into meeting new friends. so I thought I would see if anyone else was in the same boat.
On another note: do you guys all meet up or anything? You seem like a funny group (that is a compliment).

Laura-

Where in Illinois are you from? There are quite a few former Illinois residents on this cruise!! :thumbsup2 I am originally from Skokie (a northern suburb of Chicago). Cruise Crazy (Michelle) and her husband are from Illinois as well and I believe there are others on the thread.

Good morning from a very wet and dark NH

Hope all that are meeting up today have a total blast of a time :) wish I was closer - I would be right there with ya all!

Glad to see a new member to our crazy turkey gang :) :)

Steph got her luggage tixs - yahoo that makes me feel good - means I will have them before I go in three weeks.

Today I will get things into the area where I will be packing my luggage  I am so excited about this trip and I am so happy to know so many of us are going on Bernards tour -- we can have our own bus and be the "ROLLING TURKEY'S" Can't beat the cost or the fun :)

Hope everyone has a great Saturday :)

Lisa - Do your ASL interpreters come on excursions with you?

:( no it is not allowed - so Dsis and Dbil will be having a slightly hard time with that part - but I hope to be able to sit closer to her so I can tell her and she can sign to Chip. Sharron is legally deaf but she can hear and speak quite well. She went through school with me and did not learn to sign till she moved to Gaully. She and I can communicate as long as we are face to face - if you are behind her she will not hear you at all. Chip does not hear anything.

So Tara and Marvin will be on the boat with us but not on the excursions with us.

If you have not seen Tara and Marvin do a show before - you must - they are the most animated people - I found myself watching them more than watching the show - we usually get reserved seats at the shows due to the fact that we need to sit right in front of them. I cant wait to see them again...I bought Tara / Marvin and their daughter a Turkey Tshirt :)

Speaking of turkey t-shirts....

Karen-- I haven't sent you any money yet. Please PM me your address and how much $$ please.

Update on my dog situation....As some of you know, I lost my Aussie in September and then adopted another 2 year old Aussie from the Atlanta Humane Society. After a month, he started getting aggressive with the kids and running at the door when they came in. I couldn't risk him hurting one of my kids or a neighbor's child. So, we had a friend that had a 16 year old son that had been wanting a dog, so we gave him to them.

I decided I would get my boys a puppy. They have never been around a puppy and they are at a good age for one. So, on Wednesday night, I got an 8 week old Golden Retriever and Australian Shepherd mix. She's beautiful and the love her! It's different having a puppy around. It's been almost 13 years since I had one.

So that's my dog update and I'll post separately for other stuff to increase our posts!

Oh Lynn congrats on your new furry baby addition - I am so jealous of u !!! I want another furry baby sooooooo bad. DH has said NOOOOOOO and I know he is right. DD leaves in a year for college and then we are free to travel and all that. Can you please post pics of your new baby?????
actually anyone with furry babies....post your pics....I can get my furry baby fix through you all :)

What is the Furry Baby's Name??

my friend just informed me that I say "you all" quite a bit. That is NOT a Bostonian habit for those that wonder. I lived in Georgia for a brief 6 months and for some reason that ONE term stuck with me....

so "You all" have a great day!

Lynn, congrats on the new puppy! I'm sorry the first dog didn't work out but at least you found a great home for him.

Welcome from one Laura to another! :) My friends are sailing with their DS12. Hopefully he will give Ocean Quest a try.

Hi,

My DB and DSIL (and their family) have a 12 year-old son (he'll be 13 in April.) Maybe we can introduce them.:)

Priscilla

Last weekend when the temperature dropped here, I decided to get out my winter clothes. So, I got out my suitcase and picked my summer clothes for the cruise and packed up the suitcase. My goal for this cruise is to pack as little as possible. I'm about 80% done with packing and I've only used one suitcase for me and the boys. My husband still doesn't know if he can go for sure due to a pending contract job in Afghanistan. My friend from work is now my back up. I asked this a week or so ago, but she only has the certified copy of her birth certificate. I have read that this is enough for a closed loop cruise so I'm going to the main door to look for someone who actually used only their BC to see how it went. I hate to have her spend the money on the passport if she's not going.

What is the Furry Baby's Name??

If someone could tell me how to post a picture, I will try!! Initially, we picked Ella for her name. I had told the boys they could help name her. Garrett then said he liked Giecko! I had to nip that one. We're still calling her Ella and Garrett said he liked Haley....I find myself calling her Ellie May....so, we don't know for sure yet!

Before I went to pick her up, I had to secure me a puppy sitter for the cruise. My mom's keeping my 11 year old aussie but she's not a dog person so I didn't want her to have to keep up with a puppy. My best friend and her family are going to take her for the week since her kids are out of school that week.

Thanks!
Lynn
