Turkey Day Gang 2009

I have a question...has anyone counted the total # of people (not cabins) participating in the fe exchange? If you know the #, please let me know. Thanks!! :wizard:

Lisa

Thanks Lisa. I'll let DH know.

For anyone in the Baltimore area (or not too far), next weekend Disney is sponsoring a special event at the B&O Train Museum to highlight the new movie A Christmas Carol. Looks quite interesting. They say it's free, but, I don't know if that is for the Disney part or the museum itself.

I think we're going to take DS9 to it. DS14 will be going camping for a friend's birthday party.

Here's the link B&O Train Museum - Disney's A Christmas Carol

Lisa, you've got to be kidding me....SNOW? :scared1: It's not even the 1st of October yet. Steve lived in MN for about 2 1/2 years before we had Andrew (I stayed in St. Louis...there was NO way I was going to move north....south, sure....north.....unh uh!) and the earliest I remember them getting snow was October 12.

Here's hoping that your weatherman has lost his mind :thumbsup2!

Hey, does anyone know what the "limit" length is on threads? I was reading on another thread that 250 pages was it....but I'm not sure. I'd hate to see us get "locked" before we cruise. Guess we're just the chatty ones!

Oh...and about the FE....I'm also looking for "family" unit counts. For example, Mickeyhugger (Rob and Priscilla) are cruising with their daughter and their daughter's BFF -- so by my count, that would be "2 family units" for the FE item we are making. But...I also need total people too so that I get enough of another item!

Karen

I am working on the count... I have a master list... I have gotten names of those in the group and those in the FE. I am still putting it together...

We have items that are just for the kids ... Some that are for the whole cabin. Looks like we will have an empty bag to use on the way home....

If anyone has someone to add.... Just let us know.

Hope you guys made it through ok.

I haven't posted in a while since my Australian Shepherd died. We had decided to wait to get another one until after the cruise since my mom was going to dog sit for us and it would be easier with just one. Well, my dog died on 9/7 and and on 9/10 the local news reported that 91 Australian Shepherds had been taken to the Atlanta Humane Society from Coweta County (where we live). I thought that must be a sign that I needed to get one! It took several days since people lined up every day before they opened and they went very fast (only released about 5 a day). On Wednesday the 16th I finally got mine! He's a 2 year old black tri with one blue eye and one brown eye.:lovestruc I named him Riley because he'll now have the Life of Riley! He had never been in a house before or climbed stairs, etc. He was afraid of his reflection in the glass doors. He's been coming around more and more and it's exciting to see his transformation.

I can't believe in 8 weeks we'll be headed to the port!!

Have a great day!

I've avoided downtown Pittsburgh since Wednesday. I worked at home the rest of the week so I wouldn't get stuck in any protests or traffic jams. :headache:

Lynn - congrats on your new dog! :thumbsup2

I know they hold aside some Palo reservations for booking onboard, but any idea of they also do that with excursions? I'm thinking specifically of the excursions we have booked that our friends are now shut out from booking. 12 Metre Regatta and the Doubloon Sail and Snorkle.

Lynn -- enjoy your new family member. Definitely sounds like a sign from above. Have you been affected by all the rain? My brother said they've had a little damage with carpet getting wet. They live outside Atlanta.

We had family movie night last night - watched King Kong - the original. DH couldn't get over the differnce with HD.

While we sat, I worked on my laptop and designed my first magnet.

Great job on the magnet, Sherri!

Our passports came yesterday. I think it took about 3 or 4 weeks for them to arrive.

The damage is all around us but didn't affect my county or my drive to work (ATL airport). We are expecting 3-5 inches of rain today in the mountains and 1-3 inches in the ATL area. We'll see what this rain brings!

Thanks for asking!

I am gonna work on the FE list tonight. We are currently headed to Blizzzrd Beach......now that is my idea of snow. :)

Is anyone celebrating a birthday during the cruise? If so, which day?

Yes, that is my actual birthday. I was born on Thanksgiving afternoon, so my mom would not have to cook:banana:. My DH and I will be celebrating by having Hight Tea at Palo and a late afternoon massage.:cool1:

WOOOHOO -- Congrats Lynn - please be sure to post a pic or bring pics
I am having a VERY hard time - even though it has been over a year since my furry baby passed. I think of getting a dog at least or more than 10 times a day. I am the only one that wants another "DUTCH" DD wants a pocketbook pup - I am against those - and DH said NOOOOO to any animal.

Yesterday as I was driving by the Humane Society they had a black lab pup playing in the pen - It almost stopped me in my tracks - I wanted to rush back and adopt him/her. I have a feeling that after my cruise I will have to go get another. There is one little hole in my heart that is missing a furry baby.
