Turkey Day Gang 2009

Lynn -- thanks. Between our $300 OBC and Disney reward points, I like the idea of being able to pay onboard.

lck33 - I'm sure my DS9 would love to write with your DD. I recently set him up with an email addy with gmail -- I'll PM you.

Hi everyone!

One thought...do we want to creat a "kids meet" section on the Disboards instead of PM'ing the kids emails around? My hunch is that my DS (aka the Duck Stops Here) would be up for that!

Thanks to all who have given me tshirt sizes. I'm putting together my excel spreadsheet with information now and am looking forward to the Dining Room Table being covered again! I'll post a count later this weekend. Also, it sounds like somewhere between $9 and $11 per shirt (including mailing costs) will be the cost. The tshirt guy is going to send me a couple of fabric swatches so I can pick out just the "right" shade of "ocean blue" for us. What I'm thinking of is lighter than a royal blue (but not a light blue) and that's just a tad greenish. Sorry, I can't explain it any better.

By the way, does anyone know if Castaway Club Members can book our Palo ressies tonight after midnight...or do we need to wait until tomorrow morning?

Oh...and Jodie Pillow contacted me with a question about show times. From what I can see 1st show is at 6:15 and 2nd show is at 8:30...does anyone know anything different.

Also, I found this website for looking at Navigators if anyone is interested: http://www.wdwinfo.com/Photos/DCL-Navigators/1-17-09-dm/index.htm

More later,

Karen

Oh...one more thing. Someone asked about Paypal for paying for the tshirts. From what I've read, if the payment is funded by a bank account (as opposed to a credit card) there are no fees associated with this. Does anyone know anything any different?

Karen

I just bought our MVMCP tickets :thumbsup2! Did you know that now you can print them at home and Disney doesn't charge you to use your own printer (unlike some other ticket places...)!

Woo hoo!!!!!

Interesting . . . my tickets were mailed to me.

Regarding paypal, when I've sent money, I've never paid. However, when you receive funds, I believe there is a fee, depending on how much money you are receiving.

Hmmm - now I'm confused. Since we're CC members -my plan was to be on at midnight to book palo tonight. Is 90 days tonight saturday to sunday or is it sunday to monday? My family thinks I'm nuts to be up at midnight but its all part of the fun right? And also - does anyone know -what are the limits they allow? 1 dinner, 1 brunch, 1 tea?

I have kids that would definitely want to post with the others on the cruise. That's a great idea.

I have emails out to the extended family checking on shirt interest and sizes. Will go ahead and wait till i have the whole order to give you.

Missjudit -thanks for the link on the faq's, I never found that before and it is great! Didn't do the REAS package(obviously from above), I do have a great new job, but couldn't justify the $$.

Karen,

I was the one asking about PayPal. From my experience sending money and receiving should not incur a fee as long as the money come from a bank account or Paypal funds. If the money comes from credit card or debit card, the sender can specify who pay the fee (2.9%+$.30). If you have your bank account link with the Paypal account, retriving money is a breeze. If you ever use EBay, that's the preferred method.

I am hoping to start booking Palo reservation tonight as CC member. Will try at 9pm my time since I'm on the west coast.

DS is starting school Monday and we need to do some last minute shopping. In the process we want to buy some Magnetic Paper to do the door signs. Read that Walmart has some for around $6 (5 pk). Anyone use them before and know the quality?

Also sent email to Coral world about reserving the Sea Lion Swim. We want to do the SL Swim in addition to the semi-submarine. Hopfully there's enough time for both.

As for Dining time, Last time we went on the Magic it was 6pm and 8:30pm. Don't know if it had changed.

DD(17) starts back on 9/1 - her senior year! :scared1:
We went shopping today as she starts work tomorrow at our local hospital in the Dietary Department ( great job for kids ya know!) She found a skull & crossbones tank (very very cute) and I found a floor length moo moo cotton dress - yahoo - it is soooo comfy -- thought it would be great to lounge around in.. :) :) got both for $25.00

most of our stuff still fits from last cruise - so that rocks - even our Pirate Night Costumes :)

So far I will be ordering 6 Tshirts - but waiting on my sister....
My family will be wearing them - and I am getting a set for our American Sign Language Interps Tara and Marvin :) Dsis is still waiting on her two boys and the college schedules and such.

We are doing the early dinner this time - Dh wants to eat earlier than later as he has bad reflux.

oh wowo - this is so amazing we are getting closer and closer and closer!! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

Yes, Andrew and I are planning a Toontown marathon until it's time to log on. Does anyone else have kids who play Toontown?

Karen

Hey everyone,

Andrew (aka TheDuckStopsHere) is going to create a new thread just for the kids to post on (of course, we can lurk). He's going to title the thread "Turkey Day Gang 2009 Kids Thread."

Karen

Karen,

that sounds like fun! Taylor will love to post on the forum. Let us know when it is up and running. Thanks so much.

To all of you getting to book tonight.. Good luck, I hope you get everything you want. I'm so envious as I have to wait till 9/7. Save some snorkeling for me! :goodvibes

Great! I will let Leah know. She is "Vally" on the DIS. :)

Hi all,

Kids thread is up and running. Wendy, I'm not sure...in '07 I think we had APL. I do know that Parrot's Cay is NOT our favorite!

Karen

Have fun making your reservations everyone! I'll be trying in 15 days.

Karen and Andrew - thanks for setting up the kids thread. I'll get both of the boys to come up with screen names tomorrow morning. Should be fun.

Just logged on the DCL Website and I had an ALERT on the right hand side.

It said you will be able to book on board services beginning on Sept 7th??? What is the deal? I logged onto with my Castaway ## also.

Hoping at Midnight it will all work out.... AGHHHHH ..
