Turkey Day Gang 2009

Thanks Wendy!!

Quick question on the bracelets...do most DISers get them? Do we get the same color or try to vary it with each family group in the Turkey Day Gang? Just curious. With my luck, I would be the only one in my group willing to do it.

Our group of 11 has bracelets. We got them all in blue and they say Turkey Day Gang 2009 on one side with the cruise swish on each side and Eastern Caribbean on the other side. We figured they're not terribly expensive and they'll be a nice memory of our trip. (and if you don't want to pay for shipping for just one - I got a couple extra - maybe a fish extender gift....)

DS will do it. It's the DH and DGP I'm worried about. If I use the line "It will help us keep track of DS (he'll be easy to pick out)," DH might agree to it. I haven't decided about doing the fish extender thing. Again, DS wants to, but he wants to do everything. I am sure between now and November, we'll end up on the FE list. Thanks for your help.

Wow Wendy - that's a lot of art work! We're very impressed. :worship: Do you have a thread you could link in here so we can see what you've done? I'm still too new and lacking on time to figure out where it is. The kids are looking over my shoulder while I type and want to know. Thanks!

I am working on putting together a photobucket site. I will link soon.

If you want to send me kids names I will work on designs for them.

Well - it's official that we're going on our cruise. Our cruise was scheduled to celebrate DS13's Bar Mitzvah (of course, we had no doubt that he would do great). Joey was Bar Mitzvah'd on Saturday - so, it's official!

Now, I can go read the last several pages that I've missed during our busy weekend, and, we can start learning more about the cruise and the islands we're visiting.

Wow - Congrats Joey! But a friend just told me I'm supposed to say Mazel Tov.

Thanks Wendy - we'll be very excitedly waiting. (assuming excitedly is a word...)

And could someone please explain what a REAS package is? We're paid in full and I don't see anything that popped up and explained what it is. Thanks.

DIS DCL FAQ ~ New Alphabetical Listing of DCL Information. REAS is explained in detail. Lots of postings about it.

Looking forward to seeing you all in Nov. We were suppose to leave for Maine today but are leaving early tomorrow..:yay:

Thanks everyone! It was a very exciting weekend to say the least.

Wendy - I love all of your designs. I would love to learn how to use PSE from you!!!!
We have county fairs – some are better than others. We have the MD State Fair starting next week. It’s been a few years since we’ve gone. I was going to try and enter something but didn’t get the time. I wanted to knit something for our new grandson who is due in October.

Lisa – we’re not going to get our room assignment until closer to sailing time either. We’re a Cat 12 GTY as well. Try not to worry about documents or room #s – I’m sure we’ll all find each other.

Chuck – thanks for posting the comparison between DCL and the other line. I know we’ve made a great decision in making Disney our first cruise ever!

When does everyone start school? Joey and Daniel start on Tuesday. :sad1: We have back to school night at the elementary school tomorrow night.

WOWO - only 86 days till we depart NH :) :) :)

I don't know about anyone else - but I am already starting to put things together on my dining room table - like my pirate costume skirt ( still fits from three years ago - Guess I didn't follow Weight Watchers too well - :confused3 - guess eatting like I did made me a flunkie - oh well )

Renee starts school in two weeks - right before Labor Day. I have to send a note to the school on 10/01/2009 to remind them they allowed her to take an extra week off this year due to her school standings and attendance....they best not back out now....

so do we order our own shirts or what is the scooooop with that? I will need a 3x ( tolda I am a WW Flunkie! ) DH is a pooh size too -- dd is (THANK GOODNESS) Not!!

HEHE

right now we are watching WILLIE WONKA w/ J. Depp -- later tonite is PIRATE NIGHT - yahoooo J Depp again!!

:cheer2:

I am soooo jealous of all of you. Where I teach, our kids started back to school August 3. Even then, they do not get out for the summer until the 23rd ish of May.

ATTENTION - we just upgraded to 6582 so 5020 is available if someone moves fast - that is a secret porthole cabin!!!

Hi all,

In 2007, I did the t-shirts. What I did was find the guy who screened the shirts in 2005, had him modify the design slightly, and ordered them all, had them shipped to me and then I sent them out to everyone (he wouldn't send them to individuals...the entire order had to go to 1 address).

I'm happy to do this again. What I'd need is: a) everyone's sizes -- he has them from 2/4 childrens (which is like a youth extra small) to adult 4X; b) your address (you can PM that to me); and a check from you after I place the order.

I can't remember how much the shirts were last time -- but they didn't strike me as being too high -- maybe $8 a shirt? I know it depends on the quantity ordered. So, here's what I need at this point:

1. Wendy can you post the design from 2007 again? If everyone is OK with it, then I'll just modify it slightly and we'll use it again.
2. Color choice -- last time we used the Disboards lime green. This time I'm thinking about a nice ocean blue color Maybe something like this? Or perhaps just a bit darker...with navy or black lettering or maybe white?? Input here would be great!
3. # if shirts you'd need and the size you'd need.

Once I have all that, I can get with the guy who printed them last time, give him the number we need and the sizes and ask him to give me a cost estimate on a per shirt basis. Then, I can post back here what the cost will be, get your order and a few short weeks later, we'll have our shirts!

If we're gonna do this again, I'd really like to order them no later than October 10. We'll get them by October 20ish and then I'll ship them out to you. Last time I used the Post Office's Flat Rate box and it worked really well. If I ship them by October 20ish, everyone will have them around Halloween and can get them washed and packed!

In 2007, we all wore them they first day of the cruise and it made it really easy to identify people at the Port and on the first day of the cruise. It was a ton of fun getting to know everyone that way (and put your face with your Disboard name).

Let me know what you think!

Karen

Does this sound like a plan for everyone?

Here you go. I like the design but will go with the flow on the shirts. I have a couple of lime green shirts now.

I think red or blue was talked about also. We will go with the flow.

As for shirts, the green is traditional disboards color though dont ask me why b/c i dont know...

But get something that is bright b/c there are a lot of people to see past...

Masel Tov on the Bar Mitzvah...now he has to pay the price...er fast on Yom Kippur next month..LOL...only 3 years til our own Bar Mitzvah and yes we actually already have the date...

Florida resident rates are up btw for anyone on this thread who lives in Florida...but move fast...and as noted above that was a secret porthole cabin we gave up...ie a cat 8 for the price of a cat 10..only 6 on the ship and someone else on this thread has most of the rest I believe...
