Turkey Day Gang 2009

Ok, you guys are quiet... on our June 13th Magic the board was HOPPIN! Guess everyone is getting ready for back to school/back to reality!

Question: has anyone organized or is anyone interested in a group brunch in Palo? We did one before and basically you get the private room for up to 14 guests, the price is the same ($15 pp and it's put on each guests' KTTW card invididually), but you get to sit together and meet and chat. It's quite lovely especially if done early in the cruise.

  1. If it has been organized, kindly add us (2 adults) to the list.
  2. If not, anyone interested? I'm happy to arrange the details

Have a great Saturday
Donna

Does anyone know the exact pre and post dinner show times? Is it 6:00 and 8:00? I want to book Palo around the shows - love the shows and don't want to miss one. Thanks!

Hello all!

Got some unexpected news about my son being out the week in Thanksgiving. Took us 2 seconds to decide on changing our 2010 ressies to this week. Hope it's not too late to join.

My gang include the 3 of us - DH , DW , DS 7. We are experienced DIS cruisers but never had the chance to meet up with everyone. Can't imagine how we never found this board until recently. Hoping for an opportunity to make some friends.

My son is kind of shy so I'm hoping to find others in his age group to buddy up. Looks like there's no shortage of them in this cruise :goodvibes

I heard of the FE and knew what they look like from reading up some old posts. But can someone briefly explain how that works? Esp on the FE gifts part? I want to participate but not sure the full details. Many thanks in advance.

Can't believe it's less than 100 days "till we meet again..":yay:

Welcome Chun, Felicia and Nathan!

Aren't those "surprises" so nice! Glad you can join us. The Fish Extender (FE) has been created on a separate blog. I can never remember the address but if you look for MommyMinnie's posts, there is a link in the signature area.

How the FE works is this...you hang something (a bag, a pocket sorter...whatever) outside your door on the "fish." People then run around the ship on various days and leave you small trinkets...some for kids...some for adults...some for entire families (it depends on what you decide to do). In 2007 we got some great pirate stuff, a pirate bandana, a chocolate bar, some chocolate mints, bubbles, etc.

Some people do small things a few different days...some people do it only once. You can put your name or it or leave it anonymous.

Hope tht helps and welcome to the Turkeys!

Welcome Wong Family.:cheer2: It is not too late to join the FE exchange.
Just go to the blog listed above (and below, too) and you will learn all about it and there is loads of other information on this site, too. It is being maintained by one the Turkey Day Gang members MommieMinnie (Patsy)who no longer is going on the Thanksgiving cruise. Check out post 1820, also. And thank you Patsyfor all you hard work.:goodvibes
Blog address is http://112109.blogspot.com/

Thanks all to the links and explanation. That sounds like lots of fun. I will go post our info on the FE list.

Shutout to Patsy! You do such an awesome job maintaining the FE site. I am sorry that we won't get a chance to personally thank you on the cruise. Here's hoping your days are fill with Magic and Pixie Dust.

Our family has just survived a week at the local county fair. The old fashioned type county fair is still pretty big where we live. The apple pie that wins blue ribbons the animals and all that great coooking.

We will take this week to get ready for school which starts next week. We are still pretty upset our Disney plans for early September got cancelled. We will not get to Disney until a few days before the cruise. We have a small gang attending the Very Merry Christmas Party. I think we are planning a meet in the park Friday night. We got our DVC reservation at Animal Kindgom, were hoping for Bay Lake Tower, but it is still Disney !!! YEAH

Anyone out their have a county fair close to them ???

We have local fairs here (usually in October) but we don't attend them because...we have the State Fair of Texas, which beats our county fairs here. Rob and I are usually there opening day, running to the nearest "Fletcher's Corny Dogs" stand. It's a 'pig-out' day for me. Almost every food at the State Fair is fried. (My favorite is the fried banana pudding. Yes, fried banana pudding. I'll save that for another post, LOL.)

Welcome Wong family! As others have stated, this a a great bunch! Many of us sailed together in 2007.

One thing our family likes to do on Disney trips is decorate our door. Here is one for Nathan. If you need instruction on how to put on magnet. Just let me know.

My door (when I get the room assignment) will look so sad compared to you all - hehehe - I am using the one I used on my first and second cruise - ehhehe :)

It appears that we will get our room 30 days out - so hopefully that wont mess up the FE's.

I am still trying to figure out what I should do about the DCL package that comes prior to leaving - we leave a week before our cruise and if the LUGGAGE tags come in a week before I am dead in the water - unless I send the package to my cousin down in Florida....
Those recent or familiar with this Cruisers--- how soon does the stuff come - if we are due to leave on the 13th --- do you think we should change address for the stuff to arrive -- I dont know what I would do with out luggage tags!!

Welcome all new turkies!!!!

You should have your information before you leave. We had a close call several years ago. We left a pre paid Fed Ex package with our neighbor and they go our information and sent it over night to the Wildnerness Logde where we were staying. It work out great. Just an option. The package cost about $13.00 for overnight.

Oh that is nice that you have such good neighbors :) sadly most of our friends on this street moved away :( we are the last original family from our group -- so no one I would trust with anything.. If I did not love this house so much I would move too - but I LOVEEEE my house!!

I guess I just hope for lots of pixie dust and then see if it all comes together -- does anyone know it the mail comes from DCL or DU ( I used them )
