Turkey Day Gang 2009

Patsy, I am sorry you won't be coming!

I've been trying to read through the posts but they go so far back!!!! I'll keep slugging through.

So, since some of you are Turkey Day experts, how is the football on Thanksgiving? Will they put the games on the Ariel screen? Do they do a big turkey dinner? Family style or plated?

Last Thanksgiving we were in the Mediterranean and there were only about 75 Americans onboard so while there was a "turkey" option, it wasn't grandma's turkey dinner..!!

Patsy, sorry you won't be coming along. We will miss you.

Donna, I don't remember about exactly where football games are shown, but I do remember seeing one on the big jumbotron at the pool on Thanksgiving. I'm sure that it is also shown in many of the bars and lounges around the ship. Chuck and Larry can probably tell you more there.

As far as Thanksgiving dinner...in '07 there was a turkey option...but there was also lobster (yum) and many other goodies. I can't tell you about how tasty the turkey was (or wasn't) or if it was like grandma's....because I can't stand the stuff! I do remember that they had a "special" menu that night that they gave us to keep. I'll look and see if it's in my scrapbook stuff and will post more later (unless someone else can remember!).

Patsy - that's a bummer! Leah will be so disappointed. She was looking forward to meeting your DD. Enjoy your April cruise!

Sorry to hear you won't be joining us, Patsy, but glad you were able to pick dates that work for your family.

Thanks for the pep talk -- today's interview went well. I'm interviewing for a PT job with the local schools -- assessing literacy skills in young elementary students and provide opportunities to build skills for those in need. I passed the first round, now on to round 2 with principal(s) who have open positions. It could take a few weeks (we don't go back until 9/8) before decisions are made. I know I'm a good candidate, but just find interviews so intimidating.... :crazy2: AND I'm a planner, so leaving things open-ended is a challenge in itself! :upsidedow I'll keep you posted!

Hi everybody,

I'm checking in with a blog update. I've added Donna / Morgey 24. Unfortunately I had to subtract myself. We took a look at DD's HS schedule and there's no way she can miss the days for this. So we are going in April instead.

I'll be happy to keep adding to the FE list. Your cruise is close and the blog is pretty easy. Just be sure new members DM me or add to comments and the info will go right to my Email and I won't miss it.

There are a couple of ways I could use some help please. If someone would be sure to remind the new turkeys of the blog address that would be helpful.

Also, I have two FE gifts that are dated to this cruise. Any takers?

:flower3:Hi Patsy! I'm sorry to hear you won't be joining us on this cruise. This is my first time participating in an FE program and I've been trying to figure out what to do. If you have something you're not going to use, I would love to know what you have and will buy it from you. Please PM me if you haven't already gotten a taker.

Thanks!
Lynn

Disney always covers all the details. DH Larry and Chuck and Rob headed to Diversions and other venues throughout the ship for football. DH reported that all the games he wanted to see made the screens. He also watched in our room. So I think Football is covered !

The Turkey on the cruise was ok... The lobster was really good.

Leah held us to the Nov cruise for a long time. DD was really looking forward to meeting her too. I hope they continue to correspond anyway.

Wow, you guys have been busy posting!!! I am away from the boards for a few days and I missed 6 pages of posting.

Chuck, I hope that you are having a great time!!!

Welcome to any of the new people since I was on last week.

I wish that those two disney designs could go on the t-shirts, but I understand about licensing issues.

About 10 more days until we can make our ressies!!!

You got me thinking Lisa. So I went onto the website and checked my cruise ressie. It tells me I have 100 days to go. Are you flying the day before? That's the only thing I can think of as to why you have one less day. Your's sounds better than mine though. I like hearing 99 instead of 100!!!!:rotfl2:

Hello - yes we arrive in Orlando on the 14th of November - but we are staying at the Hyatt the night before so that is why my records on Dreams Unliminted shows 99 :)
