Hi everyone!
Well, Andrew survived his tonsillectomy...though his voice has changed. I've survived my hysterectomy (and am quite sure the entire 5th floor nursing staff breathed a sigh of relief when I left!) and Steve is (so far) surviving having me at home.
I'm actually feeling really good today which, 4 days post-op I consider to be really good. I'm not ready to tour the parks or run a marathon....but I've not had any paid meds today and that's good!
I can't believe it's only a year until we cruise....but I still wish it was sooner!

Hello all -- wow I feel like it has been ages since I have been here. Not really sure when I last posted. :: SHRUGS ::
I am looking at my countdown clock thinking only 11 months 23 days - oh do I wish it was now. I really need a Calgon Take Me Away time.
Last Sunday my Dad ( 69 ) passed of lung cancer. We found out on Father's Day weekend and almost 5 months to the date he passed. It has been a very very hard week. I am from his first marriage as well as my sister and brother - but sadly the second family has just now chosen to not allow us any of our wishes for his services or remains or anything. My Dad and I were very very close so this has kicked me to the curb. During his dying we were all sitting together in his room and his wife and his son ( my half brother ) started fighting with us and it escalated into a screaming match. How sad... In the end I left the house and drove back home - 2 hours - he passed as I was on the phone with my sister in law. My sister ( who is going on the cruise w/ us ) will be leaving DC tomorrow to drive up and spend the week. It will be a tough weekend since the Viewing and Funeral are on Saturday from 1 - 4. My Dad's wife was of a religion that was not ours - so she has stated that he will be following her religious beliefs and that any requests that we make are not to be listened to. So be it. I am in peace with all the wonderful time I spent with him. I will just miss him like crazy!!!
When I arrived home on Sunday night there was a message from my Mother and she informed me that she had to have emergency surgery on Monday at 12 pm at the hospital I work at. There would be no time to grieve here - I had to rush to the hospital and be with her. She has a mass in her lung and they are trying to see if it is cancer. After doing the procedure her lung collapsed. They inserted a large tube and re-inflated - but that meant some hospital time. I took her home today - and the first thing she did was lite a ciggarette. UGH - I give up. I just shook my head and said I am done!.....
Tonite is my first night of sitting here and actually relaxing - I will go back and read the boards - get a nice cup of tea - enjoy the quietness and dream of my cruise - and tomorrow all the family comes in to stay at my house. Even though the services are 2 hours away - we would rather be somewhere comfy like my house and the DIs boards ..eheheh
ok - sorry to be a downer - but I am glad to be back --- hope to see you all soon - and keep up with all the news --- now I will go back to my last post and see what is new with you all..
Lisa
Karen:
Glad you guys are getting along ok.
We are also Holiday travelers. It really works out well to be away from all the family drama and just enjoy our little family of three.... Especially when we are at Disney.
Last call..... Any one have Disney postcards that need sent?
Wendy
Hi all,
Yesterday, we saw the new hit disney movie (in my mind) Bolt.
The St Louis Post-Dispatch said it was three stars... but it was better than that by my standards.
Disney and dogs make good movie. Like Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmations, Old yeller, Where the Red Fern Grows and Air Bud. Bolt is a great movie to add on to this list.
