Turkey Day Gang 2009

We will be on the same Eastern cruise starting next Saturday, March 29, so we will be able to tell you updated tendering info after that.

Nothing oficially booked thru DCL just yet, Jessica and Kim are going to New York tomorrow to visit Purchase and Syracuse Universities next week......she got accepted to both. She also was accepted to Columbia in Chicago......sooooooooo we'll see about breaks as far as a sailing this year. Alii has 2 more years in H.S......they had a GREAT time last November and want to do it again.......

On the Eastern in 07 we tendered in St. Thomas and docked in St. Maarteen.....FYI

Thank you all for the replies - I am so excited for this cruise - even more so now that I get the best of ALL worlds - DisneyWorld - RenewalVows - and Cruise - woohooo:love:

DH and I picked out our outfits today -so that made it even MORE special!

I have not decided if I will wear my gown off the Magic or change when I get to the beach...have to talk to my wedding planner about that. I still want to get a wedding cake delivered to our table that night though and will special order one - not the Jello ones - I want a real wedding cake :cloud9: :cloud9:

Hi Ron:yay: Good to see your post!

Congrats on Jessica being accepted at those universities! You must be very proud of her. What better way to celebrate, than to book Thanksgiving 09? And, what makes it even better, is that it's an Eastern!:cool1: (Wouldn't it be great if they also made it a CC double-dip?) Maybe we can recruit more of the Turkey Day 04 and 05 bunch, and make this the best sailing yet.

Priscilla

Hi all,

Lisa, your plans sound wonderful. Ron, congrats to your family and your daughter on the college acceptances. It's hard to pick just the right place. Good luck with those visits!

Sign me....dreaming of sunny skies (we had snow again yesterday)!

Karen

Hey guys:

Hope everyone is well. Chuck is posting a live trip report from his cruise this week. Sounds like they are having a great time.

We are heading to Disney for Spring Break. I can't wait !!

Karen: I wanted to hear all about your new toy ! The Cricket... I saw an ad on TV looks fun.

I am really thankful for the Turkey Gang 2009.. The June 22 DD is not an active thread at all.

Wendy

Actually, I started the live thread today, but we don't actually leave until this coming Saturday.

Chuck:cool1:

I was wondering - at St. Maarten does the Magic tender or pull up to a dock?

If it is tender - how do we get off if we do not have an excursion planned ? I am having Vow Renewals done at 10 am on a beach in St. Maarten and just need to plan this out...

Hey Lisa-
My Pasporter arrived today:cloud9: I'm so happy! It says the ship docks at the Captain Hodge Wharf in Philipsburg on the Dutch side and disembarkation time is 8am.

It sounds like its a good thing you picked St. Maarten for your renewal b/c it also says that for St.Thomas and St. John "guests Occasionally have to be tendered" but it doesn't say why sometimes and not others. And apparently at St. Thomas ALL guests may be required to see immigration wether they disembark or not and that happens at 5:30-6am?!

Hope that helps.

wooohooo - thank you thank you :) 6 am???? on my wedding day - :scared1: :scared1: - I need my beauty sleep - honestly I do - heheeh :bride:

Hi Lisa,

If you need your "beauty sleep" why are you posting at 4:18 a.m????? (Sorry, couldn't resist).

Chuck, please report back about St. Thomas. If it's true that we have to see immigration at 5:30 a.m., then I may need a lawyer for "justifiably" creating a disturbance (or punching a public official in the nose because he/she had the audacity to wake me up at a time that even the dumb rooster is sleeping!). Seriously, I am NOT a morning person and DS is WORSE than me. Honestly, I'd rather stay up all night than get up early and 5:30 -- unless I'm catching a plane for vacation -- is ridiculous! Hmmm....good thing I know a lawyer or two (and one that will be on the ship!) :thumbsup2

Let's hope that they wake us at a "decent" hour for immigration -- say 10?

Karen

Thanks all for the congrats for jess, she IS going to purchase, Kim went with her and the University is in the country on an old farm so she is comfortable with that. She took the trip (drove) with Jess and 2 other teens......she won't be doing tha anytime soon! Looks like we will be doing the Turkeyday 08 sailing........been chatting with my "girlfriend" and other CMs on the ship.......I'll be checking in here.

Well we are back...for now....decided to take advantage of the 4th of July Holiday weekend which happens to have the holiday celebrated on a Friday both this year and next....so we booked the Wonder for both.....

Great weather at CC yesterday and a smooth ride back...Lampy, did not see Nyoman....altogether a very nice spring break cruise...

Chuck:cool1:

Oh and Lampy, Lisa's anniversary gift is worn on one's hand, not sailed in the ocean...

Ok, I've lurked long enough.:surfweb: I've been waiting until my DH got use to the idea of a cruise at thanksgiving, he wasn't too excited at first--not sure what is wrong with him, a disney cruise, that's an automatic YES:eek: . I secretly put the money down, while he adjusted to the idea. :rolleyes1 It's been two months now, so I'm crossing my fingers, and saving all my dimes and nickels.

But, unless something happens, my family and I will be joing you in 2009:cool1: It will be DH and myself, plus my two sons who will be 19 and 15 when we cruise.

I'm celebrating everything on this cruise: 20 years of marriage, older son's high school graduation, younger son's birthday, and my 50th :cheer2: birthday:dance3: This will be our 3rd disney cruise.

so...HELLO everyone

Welcome Tammy & Family

We also will be doing some big Parties on our cruise as well - are you going to renew your vows? DH & I will be on St. Marteen on 11/24 :)

This cruise will ROCK

These boards are KILLING me! This cruise is way too far away. We're doing the 3 nighter this Thanksgiving, but its just not the same as the 7 night Eastern. I can't wait!! I need to find a way to make some money so that we can go more often AND do all the other fun stuff we like to do. Theres just not enough time and money . . .
