Hi Jodie (and Lisa),
We joined in 2007 (just a few short months ago....sigh) and had a FABULOUS time with the gang. There were a bunch of us "newbies" and a few who had gone before who welcomed us with open arms.
We all had lime green t-shirts on the day we boarded the boat (so we could find one another) and many of us (thanks to Chuck) sat together at dinner.
Chuck is kind of the "ringleader" with Rob and Priscilla also being among the "more experienced"
DCL cruisers in the group. The reason why we all still post is because we had so much fun (both as a group and just with our own families) and we're ally dying to go again!
Having been on 2 other cruise lines, I can honestly tell you that we really enjoyed DCL. They really have their act together (boarding and disembarking is a breeze) and it's a relaxed family-friendly atmosphere (without being "princesses everywhere" as my son says).
Oh...by the way, the weather we had last Thanksgiving was wonderful! Couldn't have asked for better.
Oh well...it will be 50 degrees here tomorrow and then we plunge again on Friday and get ready for more ice. Folks just south of us (45 minutes to 2 hours) have it really bad -- they have 2 to 4 inches of ice and NO POWER!
Lisa, sorry to hear you all have so much snow. Here's hoping for an early spring!
Karen
