Turkey Day Gang 2009

Has anyone done the Bubba Fishing or Butterfly Garden excursion at St. Marteen? How was it?

Thanks!

Scullysiz – I just booked Palo for dinner on Tuesday night @ 7PM. There were no brunch ressies available so I guess I’ll try the day we get on the ship. I booked the dinner just in case we can’t get the brunch. I tried to book a massage for DH on one of the sea days but there are no good times available for those. I’m glad that after this cruise I’ll be a CC member and can book early.

Karen – I was wondering what everyone was going to do with the 2011 dates coming out this week and that cruises can be booked for 2011 before our cruise. DH doesn’t know it yet, but, I’m hoping to rebook and get the discount while on board. We’ll see. :rolleyes1

Chun – Glad to hear you enjoyed TSM. We loved it when we went to WDW last fall. The boys loved it so much they didn’t want to go on Buzz Lightyear on our MK days.

As for Mickey bars – DH and the boys are looking forward to getting them as well.

Scullysiz - I just noticed you live in Columbia. That's where we used to live. We used to live in Sewells Orchard which is right behind Owen Brown and Oakland Mills. We moved out to Carroll County 7 years ago.

Hmmm...neither Andrew and I remember eating ice cream cones on the ship last time. I remember eating fruit from the fruit bar....yummy pineapple....(OK, now I'm drooling)....and Andrew remembers eating chicken fingers (one of these days, I'm convinced I'm going to have to pull feathers off him)...but no...don't remember ice cream.

Huh....may have to find that this time. But seriously, do we really need to bring our own cones? :confused3 Seems nuts to me!

Karen

No, you don't need to bring your own cones -- there are a zillion!!!

DD and I didn't even eat any soft serve at all on our last cruise because she had Mickey Bars after lunch & dinner (enough is enough!)

Oh do I understand what you mean about a vey big 12 year old. My 11 year old is also very big...like 5'9" wearing a size 10 shoe! When I tell people he's 11 they want to faint! Come to think of it...so do I!

Karen

My DD who just turned 10 is very big also... 5'5 .... Big kids... I bet Mason has shot up also....

No, a 12 y.o. will not be allowed in the Stack. On the Magic the Stack is for 14 -17 y.o.'s (on the Wonder it is 13 - 17). A 13 year old can go in the Stack with parent's signed permission and with a sort of "we'll watch them the first night for maturity level" from the counselor HOWEVER they then cannot go to the Quest (you basically have to pick one or the other.) They have a roster in each club of every kid on the ship and the birthdates.

Sorry. The 12 y.o. is better off talking the 13 y.o. into staying in the "assigned" Quest on Deck 2. (Which I found the boys like more than the girls -- lots of computer type things.)

Yay! Neither of them can go to the Stack. I was concerned the 13yo would try to "out cool" the 12 yo and ditch him and go to the stack...but the cut off is 14! They're both out of luck!!!

AND the 15yo sister will be grateful she has her own space...

It's not like there won't be PLENTY of things for them to do!

Thanks!

So we finally got to the 75 day mark last night!:cool1::cool1::cool1: And I stayed up (can't believe I stayed up as I am usually asleep by 10:00) and booked golf for my father in law and St John Trunk Bay for myself, DD, and DH. Then I booked bottom fishing at Castaway Cay for my DH and parasailing for myself and DD.:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Can't beleive it, I am so thrilled.

Just like alot of our fellow Turkey's we tried to get Palo for brunch, but it wasn't available. I, too will try once onboard. But if we don't get to try it, it will be one more reason to re-book for 2011 onboard.;)

BTW, has anyone been on the St. John Trunk Bay excursion? Did you like it? Will we have time afterwards to see any of St. Thomas? Just curious.

Thanks for bringing up the cones. I was thinking about that.

School starts here tomorrow and my DD is extremely excited. She is like that commercial with the girl trying on all of her outfits searching for just the right look. Very cute, but driving me bananas. :goodvibes Have a great week everyone.

I've got a silly question. Is anyone thinking about rebooking on board? If so, for when (and I don't mean a fictional date)? Is anyone thinking about Turkey Day 2010 or 2011? Does anyone know how far out can we book?

Is anyone thinking about a 5 day Wonder this summer?

Karen

Karen:

We are thinking about both... We did a two stop :cool1::cool1: at Castaway in June 5 Day.... Loved !!!!!! it.... Then a couple of days at the park... Awesome. We are thinking about possibly a carnival next summer then a Turkey Day cruise in 2011....

Hopefully we can look at all of this while we are on board....
