Turkey Day Gang 2009 Thread #2

Wow....the small priority mail flat rate boxes are REALLY small....like large paperback/small hardback small! I'll let everyone know but it looks like I've got the right shipping for AlwayslisaD; Dustermom02; Jeniamt/Miss Judit; DB4Huskers; Mickeyhugger; lynnivey and lcoasterdisfan. Everyone else, I'm sorry, but it looks like you may owe me a few dollars on shipping. I'll know for sure after I head to the PO tomorrow but I had planned on using the small boxes for up to 4 shirts and I did really well to get 2 in them!

OK...that's it for me. Night everyone!

Karen

Karen:

Did you get my check. I thought I included enough extra... If not I will send ASAP.

Thanks

Good morning!

Nice place we have here!:thumbsup2

Karen, I sent you a cheque the other day..unfortunately I didn't have the foresight to send any extra for "emergencies"....let me know how much more we owe and I'll send it right out.

2 weeks today and we're at Disney World!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone!! :) Yea, I was able to go out of the house for a little bit this morning!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 It was soooo nice to be outside!! The only problem is that I was walking like a senior citizen. Not that there is anything wrong w/ senior citizens!! :lmao: :lmao: We went to Mason's school for a ceremony to install student council and safety patrol. He is a safety patrol member.:thumbsup2 It was a very nice ceremony, but I think that I have used up my energy for now!!

Lisa

Michelle-

The Travel Channel Program was awesome!! :thumbsup2

Wow -- a new home!

After all of this flu/illness talk, guess where I am today?

Hint: I'm not at work.....

I am home with DD10 who came off the bus yesterday with a fever. We went to the Drs office this AM, primarily to rule out strep since she had a fever and sore throat but no congestion. Good news is her Dr does not think she has the flu. However, she doesn't have strep either. Not that I *want* her to have strep, but at least with strep you know what it is, treat it with meds and move on. Since yesterday DD has been quarantined to her room or the sunroom and I have been cleaning like crazy in an effort to contain whatever she has. I hope she recovers quickly, and I also hope the rest of us can stay healthy. (they are doing a culture over the weekend, too, just in case it was a false negative on the rapid test)

Meanwhile, the Dr just got a shipment of H1N1, so while I was there I set up appts for both DDs to get it next week, provided DD10 is feeling better by then.

Here's hoping all the Turkeys stay healthy!! We leave 2 weeks from today! :woohoo::yay::cheer2:

I don't know how/if I can quote from the previous thread, but for Karen & Lisa who commented on the kids thread...

I don't know when it started, but all the kids on DD10's bus will randomly say, "I like pie!" which Megan thinks is funny/silly. It's now one of her favorite phrases, and she is thrilled that Mason is a fellow pie lover.

Add "pie" to the long list of fads.... :rolleyes1

Came home today and Andrew had already opened the 30+ pound box of shirts and had them sorted by sizes all over the dining room table. No....he's not excited at all :thumbsup2!

So, we sorted the shirts into piles....went back and checked our list again....yep, we have everyone's shirt! For those that ordered Youth XL please know that you will be receiving an Adult S -- apparently the Youth XL was out of stock so we went with the next nearest size.

Steve is at the PO getting flat rate boxes. We will ship all of them out tomorrow. I will post later if I still need an address or 2.

Karen

Karen, I think Andrew is just checking to make sure he won't forget anything. Can't fault him for being cautious!!!!:lmao:

Charlie ( the one in Gainesville, FL!!!)

Good morning everyone

Karen I cant thank you enough for doing this for us - it is so wonderful - you are a princess!!

Oh I am a HUGGER-- meaning I LOVEEE to give hugs -- and YES I know that is not politically correct...sooooooo if you dont WANT a hug - please let me know - after two years of talking to most of you - I feel like we are friends - so I dont want to invade personal spaces - so just holler if you dont want a POOH Size gal huggin ya!!!

I will look into finding a way to get the Tamilfu perscription. Not sure if my PCP will allow that, but maybe one of my Doc friends or Employee Health can assisst...

DD fell last night at work on a slippery floor - wrenched her neck and shoulder. She was all upset that she had to fill out an incident report. She is afraid she will get in trouble. I had to assure her that it is POLICY at our hospital to do that and she should not get in trouble unless she was doing something wrong that caused the fall. She said she was not doing anything wrong. That the floor was slippery due to being the dish room. She gave me her schedule and her boss gave her the day before we leave so that she can "rest" before vacation. HEHEH -- DD has that stressed Senior look - too many classes / work every night / 3 hours homework everynight - she is very excited about this vacation!

ok - well TGIF all -- talk to you tonite -- everyone have a great day!

Lisa:cloud9:

Lisa, hug away on me!!!! DW won't get jealous, either!!!!:lmao::lmao: Political correctness is way overrated, outdated, whatever. Like you said, people can tell you if they don't want to be hugged. I come from a family on both sides that hugged a lot. I'd almost be offended if I didn't get hugged!!!:thumbsup2

Charlie

Hey Chuck, the countdown continues...20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15.....

This makes it post #3730. Only 1270 to go!!!

Charlie

20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15...

Sorry, been out of the office most of yesterday and today...being a litigator means being out of the office...

Chuck:cool1:

Hugs? What are those? I'm from an uptight Northern family and don't think I ever had a hug until I moved down South :rotfl2:

Seriously. No really.:grouphug:

Isn't it amazing how those "short" distances seem to have grown while you had surgery! Sorry, but this made me laugh as Steve still kids me about how I zip through Sam's now and couldn't even make it the entire way around the store following surgery.

Good news is it does get better. Bad news is it takes a couple of weeks!

Oh Wendy,

Goddess of all things graphics....can you please grant my wish and make me a sign like this one for Steve? It's perfect for my Goofy, Wrong-way husband!

Thanks,

Karen

(PS -- Can you tell I took nyquil last night and got more than 8 hours sleep :cloud9:!)
