we'll be staying at SSR next month, and were thinking of trying the Turf Club. Do you need an ADR to dine here? Hopefully not, because we just want to show up if we decide to dine there.

DH & I just walked up for lunch. No problem. Dinner may be different.

We ate there twice on our last trip. It was our first stay as DVC owners and had read great reviews of the Turf Club. We ate inside because it was a bit chilly , the atmosphere was warm and relaxing. Our server Ken was fantastic. The ribs were great.

We've had dinner there twice, once just adults and once with 7 kids. Both times the food and service was excellent and the kids had a great time with the servers (they were invited to do horse races and play games). Will definitely plan to go back when we are at SSR again.

The Onion Ring Appetizer is worth the trip!

I was scrolling through and saw your post - you beat me to it ! We went in 2007 when appetizers were still included in the DDP. I got the Onion Ring app. It is worth the trip (if you like O.Rings)! It was a good serving of onion rings with 3 or 4 different dipping sauces. We enjoyed our meal there and would recommend it.

We ate there last month. Only ate there once during our stay as we had ADR every other day. Steaks were great and saw a lot of other dishes we want to try. We will eat there again in Dec.

We'd read all the glowing reviews here on the Disboards, so we tried it on our last trip. It was one of our only non-signature restaurant meals, and it was fine, but we thought it was over-rated. We had a wait even with an ADR, we were put in a dark back corner, and the server forgot about us regularly so drink refills were nonexistant. The food was all good, but not exceptional. Of course, we had just done V & A, Cali Grill, and Jiko the previous three nights, so we really weren't comparing apples to apples, so to speak.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a particularly bad experience. We were just hoping for more, based on what we'd read here. We would go back willingly, but we're not just dying to go back, if that makes sense.

. . . . it was fine, but we thought it was over-rated.

DW and I also feel it is over rated. It is a fine place to go, but not on out top 10 list. Lunch is a better experience than dinner.

And please note, if you are looking for the quiet experience of a fine dinner club, take a late seating; the horse races and games are very interactive within your "dining space". So if you are looking to participate with your children, early is great, they take good care of the family! But if you have left them behind to have a little intimate dining time with your DW or DH, eat later.

SO....I've made an ADR there for dinner one night next month. I'll report back and let you know my thoughts...

We ate there last June when we were staying at SSR, and we loved it- I am so glad we decided to go! Really, really good crabcakes, and as a PP mentioned, the onion rings are fantastic! Also the ceasar salad was yummy. Here are a few pics from our lunch-

Definitely one of the better places at WDW ... a lot less boring than what is at most resorts. The tomato soup is really good and the place is normally pretty empty during the day.
