So has anyone been to the Turf Club lately?

I've made an ADR there and I've read a few good reviews, but there is not much info out there about it.

Also, I was wondering if anyone has had the buffalo tenders lately? Someone posted a picture on the old food porn thread and they looked really good. I was wondering if they were just dipped in the buffalo sauce. One of my boys would probably like them plain, without the sauce if available.

Thanks in advance.

We found it to be average at best when we stayed at SSR. If I wasn't staying at SSR, I would never go out of my way to eat there with so many other, better restaurants on property.

We were there a couple of weeks ago. I would not go out of your way to go to this restaurant. It was just okay.

O, I sooo disagree with the above posters. We really enjoyed the food when we there. Probably our top 3 favorite of our last trip. Le Cellier and Ohana's came first. Plus the kids had a great time doing the horse race. And they got little plastic horses as a souvenier and that is still a prize possesion. :)

The kids did a horse race?? Please tell me more. I didn't know this was a kid friendly place. :confused3

We LOVED this restaurant. We went at the beginning of July and thought the food was great! The steaks DH & I had were so good and the kids loved their kids meals. The desserts were also good and we had a wonderful server. FYI, while we were waiting to be called to our table, a couple came up to check in and let them know that they were CMs from the Grand Floridian and that it was their Anniversary and chose the Turf Club because it was their favorite! Sorry I can't help about the buffalo strips. We didn't have any--although I do love them:love:

I have a strong suspicion that the poster talking about the horse races must have been confusing Turf Club with Whispering Canyon Cafe at the WL.

We have stayed at SSR twice & have eaten at Turf Club a total of 3 times. We really liked the food. The kids are invited to do a horse race.....my girls even received a certificate for participating. :)

I have ordered the chicken tenders plain before for my picky DS, you just have to ask. We have also done the pony races and last year celebrated my DS's b'day there and he got a dessert of his choice and they wrapped Disney stickers around him like a necklace. Lots of fun!

We've eaten there several times, usually when we're staying there (although I ate there by myself when I stayed offsite for a conference). We really enjoyed the steaks and turf potatoes. I've had the buffalo tenders several times and like them. I love the apple pie dessert and even went one afternoon just for dessert while dh and kids napped. I've recommended it to my in-laws for their next trip.

We were there a few weeks ago. We went b/c it was a night where the family didn't want to go back out for ADR so we gave the Turf Club a try. I will agree with one of the above posters - it was awesome - definitley in our top 3 behind Le Ceiler and 'Ohana.

I had the Lamb with mashed potatos and it was fantastic. My daughter had prime rib and it was hanging off the plate with very little fat. It was her very first piece of prime rib and now she is hooked (thanks Disney for making 11 year olds an adult!). My wife had some sort of stuffed chicken and she was beyond happy with her choice. We shared the calamari as an app and it was fantastic!

No question the Turf Club will become a regular ADR for us.

By the way, the do indeed had Horse Races - very similar to WCC but more of a horse racing theme. Kids are invited to "gallop" around the restaurant. After the race, they are given a certificate and small plastic toy horses.

The service we received at the Club was probably the best we had during our trip.

I'm so happy to read the reviews as it is one of the new places on my list for next week.

Thanks for the info on the kids' horse racing :thumbsup2

Sounds like The Turf Club has great food and a fun atmosphere!!!

We had a quiet lunch there, which we enjoyed. We were so grateful to find a quiet spot to have a relaxing meal. There were only a few golfers at the other tables. Service was less than ideal but the food was good.

Glad to know about the kids' horse races. That must be at dinner, since that certainly wasn't going on at lunch. We'll now avoid Turf Club for dinner at all costs.

Even with the kids' horse races, the Turf Club does not get loud & rowdy (like WCC).

You are right ~It is pretty tame. And we were there about an hour and a half and they did it once. So It doesn't really bother anyone.

I do like the quiet atmosphere. It is a relaxing restaurant. When we went there wasn't many people there. But when I tried to make reservations for this coming January I could not get the times I wanted. So it must not be a hidden gem anymore. :(

The Turf Club is one of those Disney secrets and I have hopes that it stays that way. The steaks are fantastic and everyone in our family LOVED the apple BBQ ribs. We rarely repeat any restaurant at WDW, but re-arranged our plans for a second visit at Turf Club for later in our last stay. Granted, it's wonderful to have a restaurant you can make dinner reservations for that same evening at your home resort, but it really is worth a trip.

Oh, and if you love mashed potatoes, order a side of these mashed gems - even if they already come with your meal!! :woohoo:
