Turbelence!!!

Sorry off topic but Janine i LOVE you wedding pic :)

i think i am going to go with sitting on the wing, at the moment my biggest fear is the turbulence, i hadnt thought about the fuel and all the issues that pop up with that one, so i am ignoreing that for now :rolleyes1

I think the bumps are the bigest worry for me, i am going to get on and take a very large sleeping tablet, :smokin: its wierd as i really dont like flying but take off and leading dont really bother me, its definitly just the bumps!! I spoke to my cousin recently who is a travel agent and she come back from Vegas on a virgin plane that hit a air pock and dropped 10,000 feet, she knows this as she was sitting in the jump seat by the cockpit door and she heard the pilot/co pilot say sh** that was a bad one!!!! :dance3:

Which fool posted this topic? :rolleyes1

It's just over a month now until we fly out and after my wife's reading of the latest stories, she isn't feeling too great! - But, not to worry, she plans on downing a couple of alcoholic drinks before the flight - purely to help her for the take off mainly.

Ok, i was trying not to think about the flight!!!

I'm not good with flying generally, but all this is making me feel sick!

I don't mind flying, but I hate take offs and landings. As soon as we are in the air I am fine, but start to get worried again coming in for landing. Hmmm, may be I should not have watched probable cause on Sky 3 last night (investigating air crashes).

I'm with you, i dont like to think about it until i'm on the plane and we're hurterling down the runway.... :moped: but i am making sure i get my wing seat in the hope its less bumpy there! :cheer2:

Just remember that the pilots have families as well and will be doing everything they need to do to ensure they get back to those families safe and sound, which in turn ensures that you will get back safely as well.

Thanks David, thats a very nice way to look at it :cool1: I am sure if it wasnt safe then they wouldn't do it as a job!

I used to really really love flying and have done a fair bit of it. I have found though the last couple of years that I am getting a bit scared of it expecially turbulence. The only thing that has helped is that I read that no commercial ariliner has ever been brought down by turbulence so I just repeat that in my head whenever we come across any now.

I met a pilot in a social event once, I told him that I wasnt a big fan of flying. He told me the next time theres turbulance, to think of it as boat ride. He said that when your out on the ocean and its bouncy, its due to the waves. He said flying was the same thing. Your just bouncing along waves. No worries about sinking. Just waves.

So I got that going for me! :teeth:
