tunnel of fudge or carrot cake

Mmmmmm...Tunnel of Fudge. YUM!
The one my mom used to make was just a pillsbury mix. It came with the cake mix that you would prepare and pour into the bundt pan, then it had the "tunnel" filling that you mixed and poured over the regular mix. Somehow (like magic ;)), the cake always baked up around the fudge mixture, leaving a tunnel of warm, ooey gooey fudgy goodness all through the center...Ahhh, those were the days. They don't make those mixes anymore.

Loved them! I also liked the one that had the coconut macaroon in the middle instead of the fudge. :woohoo: :worship: YOu would put half the cake mix in teh bundt pan, put blobs of the coconut mixture around the top of that, thne cover w/ the rest of the cake mixture.

I'm not seeing where the "tunnel of fudge" occurs in the recipe above. But I could just be missing it.
I'm glad other people remember the pillsbury tunnel of fudge cake. It's like this but not quite as gooey. The trick is to not cook it all of the way through. The middle stays not quite cooked I guess.

Your question reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where he's wondering whether to bring a Babka cake or now Babka. They decide on Babka, because how can you top a Babka cake? :confused3 Then when they get to the counter, there are no more chocolate Babka cakes left. Any other choice would be a sad, paltry substitute for a Babka. :lmao:
