Does anyone have any experience mixing the tulip dyes to ensure you get vibrant colors. I have bought 100% cotton Hanes T-shirts that we plan to dye. I plan to wash & dry, then soak in soda ash, and then use these dyes.

I haven't found anything specific about these dyes on any boards.

The instructions on the packet say to mix with a gallon of boiling water & salt. I just wanted to see if there is an alternative ratio or way of doing it to ensure bright vibrant colors.

Any help is appreciated.

I have never used the tulip brand dyes, but I know that rinsing in hot vs. cold after the dying process has made the difference between bright and washed out colors.

Awesome, so I rinse everything in Hot water the next day. Got it. Thanks for the tip.

Sorry this is a little OT but I was wondering where you found the 100% cotton shirts? I can't seem to find them anywhere!
