I'm a bit of a minimalist whenever possible... Upcoming 1 week trip with my 9mo, she's 17 lb. I will have a stroller. I know the Tula will distribute weight so much better, but the K'tan is so easy-- we use it every day for naps at home, she can move more freely so she likes it better, and it stores so easily in a little ball under the stroller. (You can see her in it in my Disneyland profile picture from October-- but that was only a 2 day trip, she was smaller, my DH was with us, and they seem to let you park your stroller ANYWHERE in Disneyland.) I have a size my sister can use too, but its a separate one. The Tula could theoretically be used by anyone in our group, although I have a hard time imagining my mom or dad doing it, even though they've said they're open to it.

What do you guys think? I'm having a hard time imagining how much time she'll be in there compared with the stroller.

Any packing tips for the park would also be much appreciated! I want to keep everything as lean as possible and am already a little overwhelmed thinking about all the stuff we'll be bringing in. Last time I went I was pregnant and traveled with literally a wristlet.

Happy New Year!

I would bring whatever your child is comfortable in. If she isn't comfortable in the Tula, then it is going to be useless as she won't want to be in it. All of the ride lines are stroller free as well as the shows. There was never a long walk from where you park the stroller to the ride line. We often dropped the kids off in line with one adult while the other adult went and parked the stroller. This minimizes walking holding her.

While I didn't need my K'tan during our trip(DD is 1), I loved using it when she was younger. Plus, they sell a mesh version that would probably fare better in the heat. I love the K'tan because of the different wearing options.

As for packing advice, I utilized the large ziplock bags for all of DD's clothes and accessories. Everything was labeled, organized and took up much less room.

Haven't taken him to Disney yet but have worn my 16 lb 7 month old in the Ktan in the heat in Costa Rica and we've been pretty comfortable. His other carrier is a Lillebaby Airflow but the Ktan is so much easier to travel with. I'm a minimalist packer too but for Disney I recommend having enough diaper changes, wipes and at least one extra outfit in your park bag in case of leaks/spills. Have fun!

We've used our Tula at Disney for a few trips and it's easy to use there. I store mine In a hanging wet bag and hang it on the stroller when not being used (would take with us if we left the stroller. ). I would always wear my daughter in every single line because who wants to contain a squirmy infant/toddler for 30-45 minutes?!?! Sanity saver!! I wore my daughter more at 3m versus 9m and 19m but I still wore her a lot the two more recent trips. Our Tula is a lifesaver in Disney. I plan on wearing her a lot on our upcoming June trip, as well. Mostly in lines or waiting for shows.

I have no experience with the ktan so can't help there.

I have a K'tan and an Ergobaby, which is similar to the Tula. My son is currently 15lbs and personally I couldn't imagine wearing him in the K'tan at Disney. I think he would feel really heavy, really fast. We're traveling in March and our plan is to bring our stroller and the Ergo. My husband is happy to baby wear, so he and I can both can use the Ergo interchangeably. I also think that the back support is something to think about, I feel so much more supported in the Ergo than the K'tan. Go with whatever works best for you of course, but I thought I'd comment since it sounds like our little ones will be about the same size when we travel. :earsboy:
