which leads us to the age old question...

black with white stripes?

or

white with black stripes?

and why do referees feel the need to dress like that?

Ponder amongst yourselves......:confused3

Okay, I think I'm posting early enough so as not to kill the riddle today...

And I think it's been proven that zebras are white with black stripes.

...Or was it black with white stripes? Well, either way, some zoologist proved it.

and why do referees feel the need to dress like that?

Only to distinguish themselves from the players, the NFL started using the black and white stripes in the 40's.

I don't think they needed stripes to do that. The players are younger and hotter.;)

I found this interesting "poem", written by Shel Silverstein...

I asked the Zebra, are you black with white stripes? Or white with black stripes? And the zebra asked me, Are you good with bad habits? Or are you bad with good habits? Are you noisy with quiet times? Or are you quiet with noisy times? Are you happy with some sad days? Or are you sad with some happy days? Are you neat with some sloppy ways? Or are you sloppy with some neat ways? And on and on and on and on and on and on he went.

I’ll never ask a zebra about stripes...again.

A better ending to that 'poem'.
Replace 'I’ll never ask a zebra about stripes...again.' with 'Zebra doesn't taste anything like chicken.'
